Issue Tracking Log Instructions
The Issue Tracking Log should be used to log all issues that arise throughout project implementation. It is intended to help you track and monitor issue resolution.

The Issue Tracking Log consists of 4 separate tabs:

1 - Document Cover Page - Fill in the required fields: Project Name, Submission Date, Project Sponsor(s), Business Owner(s), Project Manager(s) and Executive Team

2 - Issue Tracking Log Instructions - Refer to the instructions tab for any clarificaton when completing this template.
3 - Issue Tracking Log - Log every issue that arises by completing each of the fields shown on the issue tracking lot. The table below provides a description of what types of information
should be included in each of the columns.

Issue Tracking Log Fields:


Issue No. Enter the next number in the sequence.
Date Opened Enter the date when you logged the issue.
Issue Description Provide a detailed description of the issue, including its triggers and causes.
Screenshot / Message No / Text Provide screenshot of the error if possible or Message no of the error with description like during which transaction user is facing this issue
Issue Category Use the dropdown menu to select an appropriate category.
Status Use the dropdown menu to select the current status of the issue. (Open, In Progress, Deferred or Closed).
Module Indicate issue belogs to which module within SAP
Impact on Scope Use the dropdown menu to assess the impact of the issue on scope (Low, Medium or High).
Impact on Time Use the dropdown menu to assess the impact of the issue on time (Low, Medium or High).
Impact on Budget Use the dropdown menu to assess the impact of the issue on budget (Low, Medium or High).
Priority Assign a priority rating for the issue using the dropdown menu (Low, Medium or High).
Assigned To Enter the name of the owner who will be responsible for the resolution of the issue.
Target Completion Date Set a target resolution date and record it on the log.
Closed Date Enter the date when you closed the issue.

Impact on Scope, Time or Budget


Low The issue would be insignificant or would have a minor project impact.
Medium The issue would have a moderate impact on project scope, timeline or budget.
High The issue would have a severe impact on project scope, timeline or budget.

Priority Rating
Low The issue must be resolved, but there is no urgency.
Medium The issue must be resolved in a reasonable timeframe.
High The issue must be resolved immediately.
