Conclusion

The objective of the experiment is to identify the characteristic and classify the
metamorphic rocks. Metamorphic rocks are rocks that have been processed due to changes in
temperature, pressure and chemical changes. The classification of the rocks is concluded from
the color, composition of minerals, grain and texture from which these minerals formed. The
texture, mineral composition and grain size of the metamorphic rocks can be easily obtained by
reviewing the tables that is given in the experiment. The table given simplified the information
based on the texture, grain, mineral composition, parent rock and even the type of
metamorphic of the specific rock.

The texture of the rocks can be classified into four groups and that is Cataclastic,
Schistose, Gneissic, and Granoluse. For the Cataclastic, it can be broke down into more specific
groups which is Cleaved, Lenticular, Brecciated and Schistose. For the grain size, there are
specific grain for each of specific rocks based on rock name given in the tables. The color of the
rocks can be easily obtained by visual observation. On the other hand, mineral composition of
the rocks is the mixture of mineral in the rocks and can be obtained also by reviewing the table
of classification of the rocks, but each rocks has their own mineral composition . As well as the
parent rocks and type of metamorphic, both can be easily obtained by reviewing the tables
given.

From the experiment given, it is important to understand the characteristic of

metamorphic rocks. The philosophy of the experiment can contribute the usage of
metamorphic rocks towards the society by acknowledge the application of the rocks.
