NOUNS PLURAL FORM &

CONJUGATION FOR THIRD PERSON SINGULAR


1.- Most common nouns or verbs add only “s”:
Ex.: book - books listen - listens
table - tables help - helps

2.- Add “es” when the word or verb end in “sh”, “ch”, “s”, “x” or “z”
Ex.: church - churches wash - washes
box - boxes kiss - kisses

3.- Nouns or verbs ending in “consonant + y” change “y” for “i” before add “es”
Ex.: family - families study - studies
baby - babies try - tries

4.- Nouns or verbs ending in “vowel + y” add only “s”


Ex.: boy - boys stays - stays
days - days play - plays

5.- Nouns ending in “f” or “fe” change that for “ves”


Ex.: wife - wives thief - thieves
half - halves knife - knives

6.- Irregular plurals for nouns:


Ex.: child - children foot - feet
