Symphonic Band Music for All

General Guidelines and Rules

This document serves as a guide for the proper rules and procedures to follow while on an overnight Joliet West
Band trip.

1. MOST IMPORTANT – All school rules apply.

We are on a trip REPRESENTING Joliet West High School and Joliet West Bands. The worst thing we could do is
make our band program or our school look bad.

a. ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES: no alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, or illegal drugs.

b. MEDICINE. Each student must have a medical form on file before the trip. If students can dispense their
own medicine, it must be noted. Should medicine need dispensed by a Chaperone, this must also be
noted.

c. CURFEW/HOTEL ROOMS: Curfew each night will be announced upon return to the hotel.

i. Noise at all venues will be kept to a minimum.

ii. At no time may a student enter a hotel room other than his or her own.

iii. Any damage or destruction to hotel property will become the financial responsibility of the
person/persons involved. Please check your room when we arrive for any previous damage.

iv. Absolutely no use of profanity at any time.

v. Due to the late arrival at our hotel each night students should not expect any time to visit the
vending machines, order food, etc.

2. PERSONAL ELECTRONICS & VALUABLES.

a. Headphones must be used with all electronic devices.

b. Please keep all valuable items with you always, even though we will have a storage place in the hotel if
needed.
c. Cell phones are not allowed during any master classes, concerts, clinics, and opening ceremony. There
will be time to check your messages, etc. in between concerts and clinics.

3. BUS GUIDELINES.

a. Please be quiet for attendance and keep noise levels low always.

b. Keep the buses clean as we go through the weekend; do not wait until the end of the day.
