A 2003 Jaguar S-type is equipped with Peripheral Anti Theft Protection. This makes this car almost impossible
to steal without the key. In many cases the only way this car is taken is by a tow truck. In this case there were
marks that coincided with the "spoons" from a tow truck which allows quick pick up of a vehicle. The marks
were approximately 2 inches wide and approx 14 inches long, and were imbedded into the pavement. The
owner stated that he was late on his vehicle payment and that he did not know why it would have been
repossessed. Officers contacted AmeriCredit Financial, that handled the owner’s vehicle loan, and spoke with
the Vice President, who stated the vehicle was picked up by BUBBAS towing. The company also stated that he
has one more vehicle that is in collections and will soon be picked up as well.

The driver of the SUV had been traveling on McIlwaine when a large turkey buzzard which was in a mob broke
away from the carcass of a deer along the roadside. The bird hit the windshield of the SUV causing the glass to
completely shatter. The vehicle had no structural damage but was covered in bird feces. The vehicle also had
feathers embedded in the cracks of the glass. The owner was able to drive the SUV back to his residence by
holding his head out the window in order to have a clear view of the roadway. Dispatch contacted public works
to remove the deceased deer from the roadway so that no other motorist would have their vehicles damaged by
these scavengers.
