STORY TELLING
TITLE : THE LITTLE NAUGHTY ELEPHANT

Once upon a time, there was a little naughty elephant in the jungle named Kelabu.
Kelabu lived in the jungle with his parents. His parents really loved Kelabu. Kelabu grew up
to be a big and strong elephant. However, Kelabu loved to disturb other animals. He loved
to disturb the tortoise, he loved to disturb the rabbit, and even he disturbed the monkey!
Kelabu’s parents advised him not to be naughty . But Kelabu was stubborn. He felt that he
was the strongest in the world.
Kelabu kicked and juggled the tortoise like a ball. “ Oh! My god! Please don’t do
this,” said the tortoise. Kelabu twisted the rabbits’s long ears. The rabbit was in great pain.
“Ouch! Ouch!” screamed the rabbit. Kelabu pulled the monkey’s tail and carried it upside
down. “Nyet! Nyet!Nyet!” said the monkey and ran away. “I am big. I am strong. I am big. I
am strong.” Kelabu sang. It continued to be happened for several times.
Friends, do you know what happened after this? All other animals in the jungle were
very angry with Kelabu’s attitude. They hated Kelabu. They didn’t want to be friends with
Kelabu. Everytime they saw Kelabu, they ran away from him. Kelabu’s father advised him to
not be naughty, again and again but Kelabu was still stubborn. He was very proud of himself.
His parents felt disappointed with him. They felt sad.
One day, the tortoise, rabbit and monkey came to see Kelabu’s father. They wanted
to complain about Kelabu. First, the tortoise said, “ I can’t stand with your son anymore. He
loves kicking and juggling me.” “He always disturbs and hurts us! He even twists my long
ears,” cried the rabbit. “ He pulled my tail too. You must do something to him,” added the
monkey. Kelabu’s father was very sad of him. Kelabu’s father promised to advise Kelabu
again. The animals went home with a very big hope.
After that, Kelabu heard about the animals that complained to his father. He planned
to teach the animals. He hurriedly went into the jungle. He chased all the animals in the
jungle. He chased the tortoise, he chased the rabbit and he chased the monkey. “Run!
Run!Kelabu is going to kill us!” shouted the rabbit to the other animals. All of the animals
quickly ran from Kelabu.
Unfortunately, Kelabu’s leg got stuck in the hunter’s trap. He could not move his leg
anymore. He started to cry. “Help! Help! Help me!” Kelabu screamed. But the animals just
ignored it and kept running. Kelabu started to regret of what he had done to the other
animals. Now, he realized that none of the animals was going to help him. He was left alone
in the trap. He regretted. He cried. “Please forgive me. Help me,” again, again and again.
Suddenly …Stop! I think we should help Kelabu. He is trapped,” said the monkey.
“We should not help the naughty elephant,” replied the rabbit. The tortoise then added,
“We should let him die in the trap.” The animals kept discussing either to help Kelabu or
not. They even called for a meeting. At first, the animals disagree to help Kelabu. They
wanted to give lesson to Kelabu of all his wrongdoings to the animals. “ This is the time we
teach the arrogant elephant of what he was doing to us,” said the rabbit to the animals.
And!!! The animals were so kind hearted. They changed their plan. They felt pity
towards Kelabu. Finally, the three animals decided to help Kelabu. They rushed to Kelabu.
The rabbit bit the rope attached to the trap. The monkey helped to pull out Kelabu’s leg
from the trap. Finlly, Kelabu was free. Hurray! They were very happy. We want K..K.. We
want E..E.. We want L..L.. We want A..A.. We want B..B.. We want U..U.. We want Kelabu!
Long live Kelabu ! They cheered happily. The moment was really touched.
Kelabu cried. “Thank you so much. I’ve learnt my lesson. I promised to be good after
this. All of you are great friends,” said Kelabu pathetically. “ Allright, we accept your
apology,” said the monkey. “From today onwards, we are friends,” said the rabbit. Well my
friends, Kelabu and the three animals became good friends. They laughed and promised to
help each other. Kelabu was never disturbed the animals anymore. His parents were very
happy. They thanked the rabbit, tortoise and monkey for helping Kelabu.
There are a few lessons that we can learn from the story. We must be good to
everybody. No matter we are in different races, different sizes or different religion. Don’t be
like Kelabu in this story. Even we are strong, we should not underestimate those who are
weaker than us. We might need help from them in the future. Remember, what goes
around, comes around. And it is good to live in peace and harmony. Be good and kind to
everybody.

That’s all for today. With a big smile, I thank you.
