Well, alrighty, then!

So we haven't written to you all since the middle of August just before our trip
to Costa Rica. First, let us tell you that Costa Rica rules and you will all eventually lose your bread
man when we move there full-time! Yeah, we totally fell in love with where we were & plan on
trying to get there yearly--good people, simple lifestyle, killer surf all add up to our kind of place!
Thanks again for giving us the chance to recharge our batteries.
Welcome back to your school/work routines, summer is always waaay too short. Even though our
Little I's are never super-enthusiastic to go back to school, they definitely are stoked to see their
friends more regularly. But you guys want to hear about bread, so let's do that...
We know our Garlic Rosemary Sourdough isn't everyone's favorite (doesn't work for pb & j's, etc.),
but it really is our most highly requested bread. This will be the last one of the year. We get
crunchy the following week when we do the Millet-Polenta-Sesame Bread (which will work just fine
for pb & j's). Week #3 we're going to make the Honey Oatmeal Sunflower Bread, another great one
for any sandwich or just plain old toast. You well-seasoned I-Rise customers know this is the time
of year we start to feature our pumpkin sourdoughs, which always come out moist & delicious with
that pretty orange crumb. If you haven't tried them yet, check the Pumpkin Wheat Berry & you'll be
looking forward to next year right now!
There are some cool things on the specials menu, too. You all know & love the Mega Omega
Granola, full of lots of seeds & nuts with their abundance of those beneficial omega oils, plus
blueberries & cranberries. Good Stuff! We haven't done our Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, which are so
good they almost rival Mom's. Our Lemon-Currant-Poppy Seed Scones are probably our most
popular variety. They are perfect with a hot cup of Earl Grey, quite proper. It's also time for our
moist & fragrant Autumn Pumpkin Bread, the perfect dessert as the nights begin to cool down.
We want to toss an idea out there. We are in desperate need of a few pieces of heavy equipment to
accommodate the growing masses of the I-Rise faithful (kneading 200 loaves weekly by hand is
taking a heavy toll on your bread man's body). We need a heavy mixer. At this point there are a few
of you who pay for bread delivery once a year. We have over 150 customers (& hope to keep
growing), and if just ten of you paid for a whole year at once, it would put us in a position right
away to buy a mixer. Cost for a year of bread delivery is $300. Benefits to you include not having
to be billed monthly & knowing you don't have to think about it for a year, plus we also give you
$25 credit to be used for whatever extras you might like during the year, whether it be extra
loaves, granola, cookies, etc. Or toward holiday items like pies, etc. We know times are tough
financially for us all, but anyone who could do it would be helping keep this business alive & even
growing. Call us if you're interested. We appreciate all of your support so much! We love you all!
PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
