INTRODUCTION

Ibarra the capital of Imbabura one of the oldest cities of Ecuador also known as the white
city of the province of Imbabura, is in its beginnings was founded as a Spanish Villa in
the Valley of Caranque on a slope of the Imbabura volcano a village rich in springs, lands
that always provided a great harvest with hardworking Indians and around 200 Spaniards

Museum

The museum is a cultural center that belongs to the Central Bank, was built in 1940, of
traditional architecture.It possesses a great variety of archaeological vestiges of the
Caranqui culture. Mostly found in the latest findings recorded in the Ruins of the Inkawasi
sector of Caranqui.

Church the Cathedral


Located in the Pedro Moncayo Park, it is a building built in stone, of Roman style that
counts on valuable works of art of the Quiteña School, altarpieces and altars carved in
fine wood and covered with gold leaf.
Train of Freedom
Ibarra is an adventure route, starting from the Ibarra station and going through beautiful
natural landscapes that adorn the railway as reed beds, productive sectors, a waterfall, the
bridge over the Ambi river and tunnels made with beak and shovel.

entire city.
The Loma de Guayabillas

It is so named because of the existence of the guayabilla, whose fruit is of pleasant flavor.
It is a protective forest, where you can take walks, bike rides, camping and enjoy a
panoramic view of the city with the family.In Guayabillas you can perform various
activities such as: Camping, Mountain biking, Hiking, Sports: football - volleyball. It has
barbecue area, children's games

Imbabura Volcano

It is a sacred place and venerated by the natives of the region as well as a natural viewpoint
of the avenue of the volcanoes, from where they can observe elevations such as the
Chimborazo and the Cotopaxi

The Lagoon of Yahuarcocha

Located 7 km from Ibarra, where you can get there by foot or by bus, its meaning in the
aboriginal language is Lago de Sangre, because here the battle between Incas and
Caranquis took place. It is surrounded by the international "José Tobar" racetrack, where
national and international automobile competitions are developed.
