Jennifer O’Neill Childminding Service

PROSPECTUS

Dear Parents,

My name is Jennifer O’Neill, I am married to Mike, we have two beautiful children, Alice aged 14 and
Joseph aged 12 they are the reason I became a childminder, as I thoroughly enjoy my time with my
children and can combine this passion with earning a little extra income for our family.

I have completed the 2-year course for the Diploma in home based childcare, a level 3 qualification
and I am proud to say I was judged outstanding by Ofsted in February 2011.

The most important thing to me is the happiness of your child and for you to feel confident and at
ease in leaving your child with me.
I am Ofsted registered, and have completed a first aid course which all childminders must complete
by law, I have a level 2 certificate in food safety.

I’m a flexible person and believe in a good partnership between carers and parents, I’m always here
to answer any questions or concerns you may have no matter how big or small.
My childminding service is all about having fun and learning through play. My activities are always
structured areas of learning within the child’s development needs and individual plans if parents so
wish, it is your choice.

My setting is inclusive, I feel all children are individual, so would not exclude any child because of
race, gender, level of ability or religious belief

I consider the individual interests of each child when planning activities and themes and use the
information offered by you as to what your child enjoys doing. My plans are flexible and open to
change according to the wishes of the children or the weather. I am always willing to be led by the
children.

Before and after-school collection service

I always communicate with Norris Bank Primary School as to

what is the topic covered in their curriculum for the term so that I
can continue this at home where possible.

Space is provided for children wishing to complete their

homework during this time, though in my experience this time is
usually spent winding down after a full day at school. My home is
‘home from home’ this is important, as after a long day at school
the children may want to just relax and kick off their shoes, watch
TV or get involved in the many crafts and toys available every
day.

We enjoy art, messy play,

working with clay, board games,
and of course a full dressing up
corner. We spend a lot of time
outdoors in my safe and secure
garden, and weather permitting
we go to the local park
whenever possible.
I have a file with all my policies in; this is always available to you. I will require you as parents to take
time to read them and sign to say you have received them, along with any permission forms

Hours of opening
Monday - Friday 7.30am – 9am … 3.00pm – 5. 30 pm (Before and after school times) later
collections can be arranged, just ask.

snacks
I am committed to providing healthy, nutritious snacks for children in my care that are tasty and
satisfying.

Afternoon snack – Fruit platter will always be offered, and there will
be one of the following; pitta bread with hummus, toast, pancakes,
homemade cake, cheese and cucumber, and a ‘guest snack’ this
could be in relation to a ‘festival or celebration. I always check for
any allergies with children and parents, if there are any, I do not
serve the allergenic food at all in the house,
