My Statement of Purpose

I first became interested in VIA University College, when I read about it in a college guidebook. The
combination of great academics in incomparable city seemed like the perfect combination for me. I've
visited your website obsessively, probably once a day at least for the last six months. The more I
researched the university, the more I liked it.

I am applying for the AP Graduate in Marketing Management. As I come from a business background I
have great interest in business studies, accountancy and finance with my father being in this field since
1982 has been an added advantage for me as I could spend most of my free time observing, exploring
and analyzing things in the business. I strongly believe that running a business will not only benefit me
or my company but also the society. It will generate many opportunities for the unemployed in the
country. A business men should have all the qualities which are required to run a business successfully,
he should have knowledge about the management, accounting and finance, marketing and human
resource. I feel that business management is a tailored course for me.

I went to learn management skills at your university which would help me look after the overall
functioning of the business and excel in the field.

My academic goal is to graduate in your AP Graduate in Marketing Management course as it is a

corporate management course and a broader concept as I’ll get to study everything in detail. Once I
complete this program, I wish to do my Top Up Bachelor having specialization in International Sales
and Marketing which would help me in my business further.

I complete the last two years of my school in commerce, grade XI and XII. Accounting and business
studies have been my favorite subject. I received appreciation from my teachers for having prepared the
best accountancy and business project files in the university.

Apart from this, I have even represented my school several times in district and inter-school basketball
and debating club competition. I also took part in BNCC (Bangladesh National Cadet corps) ex-cadet and
a local NGO which helps poor people to overcome their backwardness, giving them awareness on their
rights and helping in opening their bank account which ultimately uplifts their standard of living.

I feel a formal education from your university will equip me with more practical and theoretical
knowledge in the field. It will enable me to learn with people from diverse background, create network
in a business world, work under pressure, meet deadlines, resourcefulness, and fill my knowledge gaps.
It is ever growing and ever challenging.

The course will allow me to gather complete theoretical knowledge and develop analytical skills which
would help me a lot in my family business. I believe that studying at your reputed university will allow
me to gain self-confidence, have international exposure and it’ll give me an opportunity to study with
the student from all over the world. I am sure the varied culture in the university where students from
across the globe would be present would be an added advantage for me and would definitely grill me to
perfect.
