Topic : Agreement and Disagreement (to do something)
Skill : Speaking
Time Allocation : 2 x 40 minutes

I. CORE COMPETENCE

CC1 : Appreciate and respect the teachings with their own religions.

CC2 : Appreciate, respect, and practice the honest, discipline behaviour, responsible,
caring (tolerance, cooperation, ) polite, and confidence, in interacting effectively
with the social and natural environment within the reach of the association and its
existence.
CC3 : Understand and analyzing the knowledge (factual, conceptual, and procedural)
based on curiousity about science, technology, arts, humanities, culture-related
phenomena, and real events, as well as apply the knowledge in specific fields of
study according to their talents and asked them to solve the problems.

CC4 : Try, process, and present or serve in the realm of concrete (using, parsing,
constructing, modifying, and creating) and the realm of the abstract (read, write,
calculate) based on what they learn in the school and other sources in the point of
view or theory.

II. BASIC COMPETENCE


1.1. Grateful for the opportunity to learn English as the language of International
communication that is realized in the spirit of learning.
2.2. Show honest, disciplined, confident, and responsible behavior in carrying out
transactional communication with teachers and friends.
3.3. Apply the text structure and linguistic elements to carry out the social function of
asking, giving, and refusing item, according to the context of its use.
4.3. Arrange simple oral and written texts (conversations) to state, ask, and respond to
expressions of agreement and disagreement by using the correct and contextual
function of the social, text structure, and linguistic elements.

1. Understanding the definition and function of agrrement and disagreement.
2. Creating simple conversations using the expressions of agreement and
disagreement.
3. Communicating simple conversations using the expressions of agreement and
disagreement.

1. AGREEMENT
a) Definition :
Agreement is an expression is used in order that other person agree with
something.
b) Expressions :
- Agreement :
 Yes, I agree with you 100 percen.
 That’s so true.
 Absolutely or Exactly.
 I think so.
 That’s right.
c) Example :
Ediman : It’s a beautiful place. Are you agree with me? Will you go
overthere later?
Waldi : Yes, I agree with you 100 percen.

2. DISAGREEMENT
a) Definition :
Disagreement is an expression that is not agree for to do something.
b) Expression :
- Disagreement :
 I disagree with you.
 I don’t think so.
 No way.
 Sorry, that’s not good idea.
 I don’t agree with you.
c) Example :
Ihsan : This food is very delicious. Are you agree with me? Will
you buy it later?
Samuel : No, I don’t think so.

VII. TEACHING METHOD


A. Approach and Method : Scientific Approach
Student centered is learning approach that focuses on the learners rather than the
teacher. Student center teaching is based on the constructivist model in which
students construct rather than receive or assimilate knowledge (Joice, 1992:4).

1.Explain the function of expression agreement and disagreement!
2. Mention some expressions of agreement and disagreement (item/(at least 3 for
each of them).
3. Make one short conversations using expressions above( pair the expression of
agreement and disagreement on one conversation).
Key answer :
1. The function of agreement expressions is to show that someone agree with us by what we
say to them. And disagreement expression has function to show that people are not agree
with our idea which one we say.

2. a) Expressions of agreement :
 Yes, I agree with you 100 percen.
 That’s so true.
 I think so.

b) Expressions of disagreement :
 I disagree with you.
 I don’t think so.
 No way.

3. Hendro : Look this picture. I think it’s a good picture. Will you buy it, Anto and Andi ?
Anto : No, I don’t think so.
Hendro : Really? It’s not good picture?
Anto : Yes, it’s not good.
Andi : I agree with you Hendro. It’s a good picture. I will buy it later.
Don’t take it seriously. Anto just says kidding.
