2018 ISDC Colloquium Schedule

Theme: Embracing Diversity

Poster presenters should arrive before 8:30, to set up their posters.


Speakers should arrive before 8:30 to check presentations and sound.
Volunteers should ask for their “Team Leaders sheet”, and get their Volunteer
Identification before registration starts.

9:00 Arrival and registration of participants


Corraling people into the Colloquium Room: Everyone (take into account that the
Conference Registration is happening at the same time)

10:00 Plenary Presentation: Natalia Ciobanu Group Model Building for Socio-
Ecological Resilience Analysis: A Case Study from Ikel Watershed in the Republic of
Moldova; Discussant: Inge Bleijenbergh

10:30 Ice breaker (quick activity to get to know people)

11:00 Break (it is actually part of the Open Space)

11:15 Open Space: see information sheet in your folder (there will be as many
groups as there are senior dynamicists, each group decides what they want to
work on, they get to use the materials on the desks outside the room)

Buddy system pairing starts at 12:25 (everyone who wants to be a part should go
inside the room)

12:30 Lunch: Free for colloquium participants – tickets are in your folder. Others
can purchase their ticket at the SD Colloquium registration desk (2500 ISK).
13:30 Plenary Presentation: Jennifer Johnson Assessing the Effectiveness of
Systems Thinking and the Individual Learner: Improve Understanding Socio-
Ecological System Complexity; Discussant: Wayne Wakeland

14:00 World Café: see information sheet in your folder


Change over (it starts at the end of lunch): Ivonne Hernandez, Priyanka, Valerio
Cappuccio. Make sure all materials are set up, just like before Open Space.

All volunteers should stand at the door when World Café starts, in order to guide
every group outside as they’re called.

15:30 Keynote speaker: Saras Chung Radical Listening and Courageous Thinking

15:55 Group photo (practice your best smile! :D )

16:00 Poster and Networking Session: Free beer, soda and snacks; Angel
Advisors meet with poster presenters
Bar: Olga, Jairo. Give one beverage per colloquium participant (at least during the
first hour), collect surveys.
Clean up (it can start from 15:30, in can finish until 18:00): All volunteers (mainly
collecting markers, post-it notes, etc.)

Please keep track of time and try to stay (and help everyone else also stay) on
schedule. If you have any questions, or have any ideas, tell Erika or Laura.
