R1 R2

General guidelines:

1) The event is open to all the students of XUB.

2) All the participants are free to collaborate amongst themselves irrespective of their course or
streams.
3) The songs should be in Hindi/English.
4) The song can be of any genre. (Indian or western).
5) Participants are expected to know the lyrics of the songs they're performing. They will not be allowed
to carry any written material to the stage.
6) Participants can sign with any 1 or 2 accompanying musician(s) of their choice. No Karaoke would be
permitted. However, if they want to perform solo, they are allowed to do so.
7) Time Limit: 3 minutes. Points will be deducted if the participant exceeds the time limit.

Format of the event:

1) Interested students need to apply by filling the application form before deadline
2) Date of auditions will be intimated through e-mails. Under no circumstances, the auditions will be
rescheduled
3) 8 best teams will be shortlisted to compete against each other.
4) 4 teams would qualify for the finals which would comprise of two rounds –R1 and R2.
5) R1 will be impromptu (a general theme would be given by the jury and a song has to be performed in
the similar genre)
6) Participants need to perform song of their choice in R2
7) Winners will be adjudged on the combined performance in R1 and R2

Judging criteria:

1) Rhythm & Tempo

2) Melody
3) Pitch & Range
4) Sync with accompanying musician (if any)
5) Song selection
