Sr. Officer Climate Change Adaptation

Assessing Climate Change Impacts on Biodiversity and Livelihoods

Reportingto: Coordinator Conservation


Grade/Title: C 2[Equivalent]
DutyStation: Gilgit with frequent traveling across Gilgit-Baltistan
EmploymentContract: Short term (starting April 2018 to June 3o, 2019)
WorkWeek: 5 days (Monday through Friday) - 40 hrs /week
WorkHours: 0830 hrs to 1715 hrs (with 45 minutes lunch & prayerbreak)

Duties and Responsibilities


Under overall guidance and supervision of Head (Gilgit-Baltistan) the Climate Change Adaptation
officer will:

1. Plan, implement and monitor UNDP supported CC adaptation initiatives inGB;


2. Develop work plans, budget forecasts and other required documents on prescribed
formats/templates for approval, prior starting fieldimplementation;
3. Prepare, present and submit technical and financial progress reports on pre determined formats
andtimelines;
4. Organize/conduct meetings/workshop /seminars for project partners and otherstakeholders;
5. Coordinate with relevant government, non government and community partners for linkages,
cooperation andsynergies;
6. Coordinate with donor, and other regional and international aid agencies and partners for future
cooperation and outscaling;
7. Plan, prepare and facilitate monitoring and evaluation missions, as, when and whereneeded;
8. Maintain a high quality track record of project activities, documents anddeliverables;
9. Help write technical reports, policy papers, briefs, new concepts andproposals;
10. Write at least four research articles / case studies covering field stories, key lessons and
achievements of high socio-ecological significance for widerdissemination;
11. Any other task assigned by Head WWF-Pakistan,Gilgit-Baltistan.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
 A post graduate in environmental science, foreign qualification acquired will be anasset;
 At least two years of relevant working experience with a national / international R/Dorganization;
 Good at application of MS Office and statisticalpackages;
 Excellent in English and local languages, writing and communicationskills;
 Physically fit for traveling / trekking in rugged mountainareas.
 Familiarity with social, cultural and geographicalcontext.
