 The written work has three fundamental parts:

INTRODUCTION: Tell the reader what you are writing about. The Introduction
explains why the topic is relevant and why are you interested in writing about
it. Do not start “I wrote this because…..” Never use “I” in an essay.
(No more than one page)

BODY: Use your Essay Statement to develop the topic. The Body paragraphs
are where you present your essay’s main points. It contains ample textual
evidence with the corresponding support, not fluff.
“The body is the meat and potatoes of your essay”

CONCLUSION: It explains why the topic is relevant to people today. How it


applies to the same culture or other cultures. Its consequences in people’s
lives and what could happen in the future with the topic. You may add some
new idea at the end that gives the essay something special.

NOTE: These three parts each start a new page. If the BODY finishes half
page, the CONCLUSION will go in a new page.

2. ORAL EXPOSITION

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORAL EXPOSITION


 Previous your oral exposition you must hand in one original and one
copy of your essay, both nicely bound and signed in the last page by
your teacher.
 You need the support of visual material, audiovisuals (projector), giant
prints, banners, posters or physical samples as evidence.
 The focus projector should be used with a pen drive with all your
slideshow images in it, which must be tested beforehand in one of the
school computers.
 The slideshow images are not allowed to have anything written.
 A pen-drive is a storage extractable device.

 The Oral Exposition has two parts:

 THE FIRST PART is the supporting delivery of Topic.


You must explain your topic in order, with clear vocalization,
using coherent ideas, good stress and intonation, keeping eye
contact with the judge, appropriate fluency, etc.
 Students are not permitted to glance at note cards or read notes
during the oral exposition.
 The corresponding rubric will be reviewed.
 The First Part will last approximately 10 minutes.

 TE SECOND PART are the questions of the Jury to the student


about the oral exposition.

 Questions cover the topic written by the student and the oral
exposition. They can also be related to social, local, national and
worldwide events, past or future events, news on the newspaper,
magazines or TV, opinions of people in general, a book
somebody read or previous knowledge about topic.

 Questions come from any source and are free and improvised.

 The Second Part will last approximately 10 minutes.
