In addition, it is compulsory to submit the


following 4 items not more than 1 week after
the closing date of application for admission
(preferably together with the supporting
documents for admission).

1. A portfolio of 12 to 20 examples of work


in any media, which may be the result of
assigned class projects or of self-directed
exploration, completed recently and which
should reflect your interests, experience and
competencies in the arts. For work originated
from group project, your creative role in the
project must be clearly stated. All submitted
work must be reproductions of originals. No
original artwork should be submitted.

2. A personal statement in English of no


more than 300 words on (1) what leads
you to seek an art and design education at
ADM, (2) why you are uniquely qualified to
join ADM, (3) three creative individuals who
have influenced you and what it is that you
like about them.

3. A creative writing / film responding to one


of the following two creative briefs:
• Use no more than 50 words and in three
paragraphs, complete the following
sentence: The man sat outside his house...
• In a film that lasts no longer than 1 minute
address the idea of change.

4. Three separate drawings using graphite


pencil each on an A4 sheet of white paper
measuring 29.7cm x 21cm:
(1) A drawing from observation of an organic
object, (2) A drawing of a graphic form that
can be repeated as a pattern, (3) A sequence
of two or more drawings on one piece of
paper (e.g. a comic strip, story board etc)
that tell a story about a bird.
These drawings must be submitted in their
ORIGINAL FORM, not as reproductions,
with your full name and application number
written on the back of each drawing.
