To whom it may concern:

As the course coordinator and a clinical instructor, I have the pleasure of working with Brad
Jenkins during his N-214 Health Across the Lifespan: Adults I course. As indicated by the
course title, this is the first of three medical-surgical courses offered at Shenandoah University.
Our clinical rotation is on 3 East at Winchester Medical Center, which is a medical telemetry
floor. Brad takes care of a patient each week, growing his interactive skills, passing medications,
and performing interventions for the patient.

Mr. Jenkins is an excellent student and team player. He has already demonstrated a great deal of
growth during the clinical experience, both in the clinical setting and in his weekly writing
assignments. Mr. Jenkins seeks assistance from peers, his primary nurse or me, as appropriate
for the task. He is receptive to feedback while learning new processes or being reminded of
proper techniques. He is punctual for clinical and demonstrates a high degree of integrity. His
critical thinking ability is clearly evident, seeking to understand the relationship between his
patient’s primary diagnosis and co-morbidities on a level more developed than expected in the
first semester.

With respect to his position as a nurse extern, I highly recommend Brad Jenkins. He will be an
asset to the organization and team during his externship.

Sincerely,

Therese M. Collins, MS, RN, CNE
