1st SEAMEO SCIENCE OLYMPIAD 2019 OF THE SEAMEO RECSAM

The SEAMEO RECSAM will hold its 1st SEAMEO Science Olympiad (SEASO)
2019 from March 5 to 8, 2019 at the SEAMEO RECSAM, Penang, Malaysia.

The olympiad aims to:

1. stimulate scientific thinking and knowledge exploration among

students in secondary schools;
2. encourage and involve young learners in pursuing science knowledge,
as well as to increase their awareness on the relationship between
various science fields in their daily lives; and
3. foster camaraderie and networking among the young learners during
the event.

The target participants are students (between 13 to 19 years old) and teachers
from 11 SEAMEO member countries, as well as parents, observers, and the general
public.

The online/offline registration form is available at www.recsam.edu.my. The

deadline of filing of application is on or before December 29, 2018.

Participation of public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-

of-classes policy stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting
Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
