Mi Ultimo Adios (My Last Farewell)

This poem was Jose Rizal’s farewell poem. Before his death, he managed to write

a poem about his undying love for his country. By reading the poem, I realized that Dr.

Jose Rizal truly loves the Philippines. He gave his life for our country. He thinks that giving

his life for his country is the best thing he could do. Patriotism runs in his blood. Ever

since childhood, Rizal had one dream: to see his country, the Philippines, free. He was

hoping that his death will serve as an inspiration to his fellow countrymen and will

inspire them to also fight for their country. One thing I learned from this poem is once in

our lives, we have to sacrifice something for the benefit of everybody. Being selfless is a

big part of loving. Let us all be like Jose Rizal. Let us love our motherland. Let us take care

of her. Each of us are heroes in our own ways.
