Dr. Andrew D. Dimacali

Chair of Student Scholarship Committee
University of the Philippines College of Medicine

RE: Scholarship Application

Dear Dr. Dimacali:

Greetings of peace and prosperity!

I am an incoming learning unit three (LU3) student of the Doctor of Medicine program of the
University of the Philippines. I acknowledge that being a student in this medical school is both a
privilege and a responsibility. It is a privilege because not every family can send their child to a
medical school because of financial reasons. It is also a responsibility because UPCM’s tuition is
subsidized by the tax payers’ money.

In line with this, I am hoping to be chosen as one of the beneficiaries of UPCM’s scholarship grant.
I belong to a middle-class family with two younger brothers; one currently studying in college and
the other in high school. My father is our only provider who currently works as a freelance civil
engineer with a Php30,000 monthly salary. I was able to study in Manila during my undergraduate
years because my grandmother helped us financially by providing my tuition fees but will not be
able to provide now because of her current health condition.

If you require any further information, you may contact me anytime at 0932-208-8938 or email
me at rbsausa@up.edu.ph.

Thank you very much for your attention into all these matters and for your consideration of my
application.

Sincerely,
Rausche B. Sausa
