accountable fcr their- acti*ns. The purpose of the code of classroom conduct is not solely tn
punish stuCents for misdemeanors but to heip them understand and accept iheir obligattons
*s students af this acad*llic community.

1. To maintain a consistent professional image on campus, you are reminded to adhere to


the stipulated dress code while attending lectures, tutorials. examination, workshops.
and any activities within the campus.

. Each student, male or female, is expected to give a neat and tidy look.

. For men: Formal pants & dress shirts with a tie (neatly tucked in without
offensive words/images painted), polished Leather Shoes.

' Shalwar kameez with formal waistcoat, Peshawari Chappal (only on Fridays)
or special occasions.

. For women: Shalwar Kameez with scarf/dupatta, trousers with a long shirt,
formal female wearing, formaltrousers, and formal tonics.

. Patchy, tattered and shabby look jeans, crew neck T-shirts, loafers, slippers,
and high heel sandals and chappals are not permitted. Wrinkled clothes or
disheveled hair are not permitted. Students violating dress code will be fined
Rs. 500 and will not be allowed to attend classes.

2. Students are not permitted to wear costly or fancy watches, chains, earrings, belts etc.
3. Students should avoid wearing strong fragrances of any kind as other students may be
allergic to them
4. Personal cleanliness, hygiene, and neathess are expected at all times. Hair/Beard must
be neatly cut/pinned/plaited and combed. Nails must be kept'clean and short. Boys
must maintain their hair trim and neat. Fancy hairstyles and colored hair are not
allowed.
5. Cell phones must be on 'silent' mode. At no time should someone during the course
of the class engage in making/receiving phone calls, sending/receiving
SMS's/emails, using cameras, or surfing the internet with such devices.

6. The use of computers is at the discretion of the instructor and should be made clear
by him/her. lf they are allowed, they should only be used to support that day,s
material (i.e., taking notes, using the web as directed by the instructor). Checking
email, surfing the web for non-class related topics, chatting on the net, or working on
other projects are not acceptable forms of behavior.

7. All other forms of electronics (ipods, Mp3 players, pDAs, etc.), should also be
maintained in the "Off' position.

B. The student will be fined of Rs.500 in violation of mobile phone policy.

L All students are directed to display their ldentity Cards in the classroom/campus.

10. The students are expected to be in class the entire class time. Do not enter late or
leave early without the permission of the instructor until the class is over.

11. The students are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful
manner with their fellow classmates and instructors while engaging in all classroom
activities and discussions. All students shall be allowed to freely participate in
classroom discourse and shall be allowed to express their viewpoints and ideas
as long
as those viewpoints and ideas are reasonably related to the topic or assignment
being
discussed' As a participant in an open and free learning environment, students are
free
and are encouraged to disagree and challenge others'viewpoints and ideas; however,
students shall behave in a professional and respectful manner in a class by
a) being recognized by the instructor prior to speaking;
bl not interrupting other students or instructors when they are speaking;
c) Iistening to students and instructors while they are speaking; and
d) speaking in a normal, calm voice when addressing students and instructors.
