Dear Senior Portfolio Committee,

I have written this letter to ask for the approval of my senior portfolio. During the four years I
have spent at Buckingham I have learned how to present myself and my achievements to a
greater degree of excellence. Since I took Mr. Hawkins’ world history class it has inspired me to
become a world history teacher when I graduate from high school.

After graduation I never saw myself coming back into a school system ever again, however, the
way my sophomore history teacher presented topics in class amazed me and kept me intrigued in
the subject matter. I want to recreate that same feeling for future students that I will hopefully get
the opportunity to teach. Since joining Buckingham I have learned how to read and write essays
to find the perfect balance between facts and opinions. Taking Mr. Rowe’s Integrated Math 2
class as a freshman helped me bond with the sophomores at the time which helped me become a
more sociable person and a better friend. Buckingham has given me to tools and taught me how
to study efficiently and how to prepare for big tests. I think that I have achieved a safe
relationship with the teachers and students that promote a healthy student environment where I
can get my work done and help other work effectively.

After leaving high school I want to attend Solano for two years and transfer to another college.
Although I haven’t made my decision on which college I’m looking to attend, I know what
majors I want to take when I do find one.

I look forward to graduating so I can proudly begin my first steps toward the life I hope to
achieve. Thank you for your time.
