IFA OF THE YEAR 2014/2015 FROM THE PRIESTS ON THE MAT INSIDE THE TEMPLE ON THE HILL
OF ITASE AT OKE-ITASE, ILE-IFE ON SUNDAY 08/06/14 BETWEEN 12:00AM AND 1:30AM
ODIOGBE The odu of the year 2014/2015 is Odiogbe. It came with ayewo Ija meaning fight. Ifa has recommended sacrifice to Iyami as Aladimu with a big rat and palm oil 1. Ifa has advised us to be contented with the present situation and be prayerful. Ifa says with patience and sacrifice, all will be elevated even more than expectation. Ifa says many people will travel out of their towns this year and Ifa has advised the emigrants to make ebo and promised that they will return home with fortunes. Also there will be more cars belonging to Ifa/Orisa devotees on the road. The items to sacrifice are 4 pigeons, gin, honey and money. On this, Ifa says: Idin gbe mi Idin so mi Orisa gbeni latete o jori esin lo A difafun Makanjuola Omo Elerin Saaje Oun le rire mu bo lajo lo dafa si Makanjuola de! Iwo mo lomo Elerin Gbogbo oro ni tomo Elerin Saaje. All the Ifa/Orisa devotees need to be more hygienic; we should always sweep the floor of our houses and the temples. Each person needs to appease Ifa with a goat and the goat soup should be taken with corn meal. The husbands should desist from poke-nosing into the business or works of their wives as well as desisting from asking the wives about their profits and how they spend it. People should be less inquisitive to prevent being blind. And polygamous husbands should not love one of the wives more than others. We also need to appease Osun. On this Ifa says: Isin pon pon, isin fibi pipon sele Oburo lo feyin seje Yun-unyun-un dudu a bidi siiriki A difa fun Olofin Otajatoju Ti Aaye aya re n ta eko Won ni o ma finu han fun Obinrin Orunmila wi idi a gbe Mi idi a gbe bara Agbonniregun Idi Agbon ni gbe agbon Orunmila wi idi a gbe Mi idi a gbe bara Agbonniregun Idi Ogongo ni gbe Ogongo Orunmila wi idi a gbe Mi idi a gbe bara Agbonniregun Idi baba omo ni gbe omo Awo Olofin lo sefa fun Olofin Awo Orunmila lo sefa fun Orunmila Awa roju o Awa ri Aaye Awa rohun wa eyi o nu Isin pon pon, isin fibi pipon sele Oburo lo feyin seje Yun-unyun-un dudu a bidi siiriki Cast Ifa for Olofin he-who-sells-commodities-with-eye Whose wife, Aaye sold corn meals He was told not to confide in any wife Orunmila says ones buttock supports one I agree that ones buttock supports one The house wasps buttock supports the house wasp Orunmila says ones buttock supports one I agree that ones buttock supports one The edible dung hill worms buttock supports it Orunmila says ones buttock supports one I agree that ones buttock supports one The fathers buttock supports the child Ifa revelation to Olofin Ifa revelation to Orunmila We have found Eyes We have found Aaye We have found all our lost items The story: When Aaye, the wife of Olofin was going to sell corn meal in the market, Olofin removed his eye balls and put them at the bottom of the basket. Orunmila was told to appease his Ifa with a goat and corn meal. His servant got to the market and bought the corn meal together with the basket. When the wife got home; Olofin told him his eyes were inside the basket to watch whatever happened in the market as usual. The wife ran out to look for the buyer. After the appeasement, they all ate the corn meal in the house of Orunmila. Osun the wife packed all the leaves used to wrap the corn meal and put them inside the basket to dump. As she got to the dumping ground, pouring down the content of the basket, she found two eyes and took them home to give to Orunmila. Olofin had become blind and the wife had run away. Olofin sent for Orunmila for consultation. When Orunmila wanted to be going, he met Aaye who was also going to Orunmila to consult Ifa. She explained what happened to Orunmila and they both went to Olofin and the latter was very happy for he has found both the eyes and the wife. 3. In Idingbe, Ifa says there are chaoses in the world. There are attackers. The solution to this is to make sacrifice and call upon Ifa. The items to sacrifice are a he-goat, 3 cocks, 3 big rats and 3 buckets of water. After making the ebo, the water will be poured on the ground where it will flow to Esu. With the ebo, Ifa has promised people victory and long life. On this, Ifa says: Ogeere ji moko awo won lode Idita A difa fun won lode Idita Nijo ajogun ka won mole pitipiti Won ni ebo ni won o se Won gbebo nibe won rubo Ogeere ji moko awo rere Eniyan kii da Idingbe ko ku mo Ogeere ji moko awo rere Ogeere jimoko, the priest in the city of Idita Cast Ifa for them in the city of Idita When they were surrounded by attackers They were advised to make ebo They heeded to the advice Ogerejimoko is a good Awo One cannot cast Idingbe and die still Ogeerejimoko is a good Awo 4. After making the ebo, Ifa will be appeased. Ifa says he will help us send away the enemies. The arch enemy or the head of the enemies will run away to an unknown place after making the ebo. The items to sacrifice include a he-goat, 7 arrows, pap, palm oil and money. Ifa says we should not be stubborn. There should be sacrifice for the people held hostage so that they will be set free. The items to sacrifice include a dog, a cock, roasted yam, palm wine, beans, kolanuts and palm oil. After the sacrifice, Ogun will be appeased. O ni abosise Won ni kerigi ale, ta n masun O ni ohun yii ko jo toun O yi pada Won n le lo Won ni kapa ge e Won ni kese ge e O ni: Agbe gbe mi dele A ki rajo ka ma dele Agbe gbe mi dele Paa edun Needle with its sharp edge The blacksmith who uses only left hand Cast Ifa for Onigando Tooro Mofe He was told not to travel from one end to the other He was told never to go from one rope to the other He was told not to go from ogungunbere tree to heaven He made the sacrifice but heeded not to the advice He went from one end to the other He went from one rope to the other He went from Ogungunbere tree to heaven He met Iku, the death casting Ifa He greeted with Aboru They said have you caught him He greeted them with Aboye They said Has he been killed He greeted them with Abo sise They asked if his meat has been roasted He knew their intention was bad He turned back They ran after him They said his hands should paralyze They commanded his legs to paralyze He said: Agbe should please carry me home One does not travel with the intention to die abroad Agbe should please carry me home 7. Ifa says that the traders and the farmers will profit. The Egbe Orun should be appeased. We should not curse or cast spell on anybody. Also, whenever any item is lost or stolen, there should not be any negative utterances. The items to use for sacrifice include Honey, Pigeons, Hens, Gin, Kola nuts, Ground nut, Pop corn, Aadun, Banana, Mellon, Mat, Salt, and other edible things. Also many sick people who are expecting death will gain back their health with the assistance of Obatala. Even people who are under threat of assassination will escape death. A goat will be sacrificed to Ifa while Obatala will be appeased with 4 snails, shear butter, white chalk, white cloth, kola nuts, Mellon and pounded yam. Friends will also benefit from one another this year. They met half way and they started singing to praise Ikin. 11. Ifa says the practitioners of Ifa/Orisa Religion will increase in wealth and population this year. The ebo to be made include a he-goat, 3 cocks, arrows, kola nuts and money. After the ebo, Ogun and some Orisa of the river will be appeased. On this, Ifa says: Titu ni mu adiye dole Ihuuhu se adiye yegbeyegbe Bi ihuuhu o ba si mo Adiye a dole A difa fun won ni Ogbomoso Nijo won n ji ti won n konu ogun Ogun o ni jajaja ko ja Ogbomoso A denu oko a sinmi After removing the feathers, a fowl becomes powerless The feathers add to the body of the fowl When all feathers are totally removed from a fowl The fowl becomes powerless Cast Ifa for the people of Ogbomoso When they were having premonition for war No outbreak of war will consume Ogbomoso We enter the boat and have rest of mind 14. Ifa says he is ready to rescue the whole world. He says the whole world have not been calling upon him for deliverance. However, he will rescue us. The items to sacrifice to Ifa here include plantain. On this, Ifa says: Idin gbegbengbe lawo Idin gbegbengbe Iding gbegbengbe lawo Idin gbegbengbe Idin gbe mi Idin gba mi Eni o to ni gba ni gba ni A difa fun Orunmila Yoo fi Ogede agbaagba gbamo re lowo alajogun Emi ni Alade fi n gbomo re lowo alajogun Ogede agbagba! The plantain! Is what Edu used to rescue his children. 15. Idingbe tells us that Orunmila is the one in control of the universe. Therefore, he is the only one we must call upon. It is in your hands 16. Ifa says we should refrain from saying anything that is different from what Ifa says whenever we are dealing with clients or in our day to day activities generally. Also, we should not revenge. In other words, there is need for us to forgive anybody who might have offended us in one way or the other to prevent crisis. On this Ifa says: Pankere, janwonran awo inu igbo Asinfinrin lololo awo eluju Okanrojorojo awo ilarere Awon lo difa fun Ogun Onire To n sunkun airibi To n gbaawe airipon Pankere janwonran awo inu igbo ni ko le bimo mo Asinfinrin lololo awo eluju ni ko le bimo mo Okan rojorojo awo ilareje ni yoo bimo lopolopo Ebo ni ko se O gbebo nibe o rubo O bi Abere O bi Obesilo O bi Ada O bi Oko Awon omo Ogun pa Pankere janwonran awo inu igbo Awon omo ogun pa Asinfinrin awo Eluju Okan rojorojo awo rere Iku ko ma pa Okanrojorojo awo ilareje Okan rojorojo awo rere Pankere janwonran is the priest of the forest Asinfinrin lololo is the priest of savannah Okan rojorojo is the priest of Ilareje They cast Ifa for Ogun Onire While crying for inability to have children When he was longing for children Pankere janwonran said he could not have children Asinfinrin lololo said he could not have children Okan rojorojo said he would have many children He was advised to make ebo He gave birth to Abere, the needle He gave birth to Obesilo, the curve-cutlass He gave birth to Ada, the cutlass He gave birth to Oko, the hoe The children of Ogun killed Pankere janwonran The children of Ogun killed Asinfinrin lololo Okan rojorojo is a good Awo Let Iku never kill Okan rojorojo awo Ilarere Okan rojorojo is a good Awo. 17. Sango and Oya will assist us this year. Many people will put Ifa priests into test. With the proper ebo and appeasement of Sango, the people will be disgraced and therefore praise the priests. A ram will be used to appease Sango. Ifa says the god children should be grateful to their Oluwo and always come to the assistance of the Oluwo. On this, Ifa says: Idin gba gba gba Idin gbe gbe n gbe Idin gbegberegbe ti gbe jagbe A difa fun Orunmila opitan To lo te Sango nifa Baba wa joye Atayese Baba wa joye Atunwase Baba wa joye kosehun-ti Sango pada bo, o si wa se baba lore Idin gba gba gba Idin gbe gbe n gbe Idin gbegberegbe ti gbe jagbe Cast Ifa for Orunmila, the great historian When going to initiate Sango into Ifa Orunmila was installed as chief redeemer Orunmila was installed as chief builder Orunmila was installed as the perfect one Sango later returned to assist him Story: Olofin was not happy when he heard that they called Orunmila the perfect one. He invited Orunmila and threatened that he would behead him if he failed to do something magical. He wanted him to move the tree in the market to the front of the palace within seven days. Orunmila was thinking of his death when Sango and Oya came. He explained his ordeal to Oya and Sango who assisted him by using their power to move the tree from the market to the palace. Then Olofin bowed for Orunmila and agreed that Orunmila is indeed a perfect man 18. Ifa says people should refrain from snatching another persons wife or follower to prevent crisis. Also, to allow peace and to have rest of mind those whose property, wives husbands or followers were snatched need to forgive the snatchers. The items of sacrifice here include 8 snails, Mellon, pounded yam, shear butter and money. After the ebo, Obatala will be appeased. On this, Ifa says: Idingbe la a lu aran Orisa A difa fun Igbin To n lo ree gba Ogele obirin Orisa Mo gba Ogele na Orisa fi jin Mo gba ogele na Orisa fi jin Idingbe is the sound of aran Orisa drum Cast Ifa for Igbin When going to snatch Ogele, the wife of Orisa I have already snatched Ogele Orisa pardon him I have snatched Ogele Orisa, please pardon him The above verse also warns people to desist from adding to the crisis between two parties. Instead, they should look for the way to reconcile the parties. 19. To ward off evil, there is need to make ebo after which Sigidi (clayed statues) will be made with kola nuts in their mouths. Each Sigidi will be put at each entrance of the house, city or state. On this, Ifa says: Okeere ke nijewu Ogeere ge nijewu Aigun laidagba A difa fun Orunmila Lojo tiku oun arun n kanle re re Gbogbo ajogun n kanle baba ni lilo Ijobi ona oo seni Ijobi ona oo seniyan Bi a ba kini sebi aa jeni ni Ijobi ona seni Ijobi ona seniyan Bi e ba ki ijobi ona bi o ba dahun E ya maa lo Okeere ke nijewu Ogeere ge nijewu Aigun laidagba Cast Ifa for Orunmila When death and disease were planning to come to his house When all evil forces were planning to come to his house The kola nut eater at the entrance, you are bad The kola nut eater at the entrance, you are inhuman When one is greeted, response is required The kola nut eater at the entrance is good The kola nut eater at the entrance is human Orunmila said if the kola nut eater at the entrance does not respond You should all turn away 20. Egbe Orun should be appeased for success. All edible things are required for the sacrifice. On this, Ifa says: Idin gbere arinnako A difa fun Lajubala Olori Egbe lode orun Keepe kee jinna E bani larinrin ire Idin gbere arinnako Cast Ifa for Lajubala The head of comrades in Heaven Before long Come and meet us amidst fortunes 21. Ifa says we should not use force to solve any problem. People should think twice before promising to assist anybody or asking for assistance. This is because, the assistance if the approach is harsh can add more to the problem. We need to expose our body more to rain or any source of water than sun and fire. One must bath at least once if not more every day. People need to be cautious so that they will not be bankrupt. And those who are under financial ordeal have to make ebo to be free. The items to sacrifice include 8 snails, 8 pigeons, honey, gin water and money. On this, Ifa says: Idin gbegberegbe loko atoo A difa fun Ope Segisegi Ope segisegi abeti lorun pinpinpin Won ni ko kara nle Ebo ni ko se. And if we have palm tree beside the house, the tree should be made free of dry leaves and other things that might be disturbing it. 22. There is strong warning against lying. People should refrain from promising what they are not capable of doing. The Ifa priests should always let their clients know if a task is difficult or not possible at all. They should not lie because of money. Idingbe said we should always be bold to expose the evil doers of any sort. Ifa has promises people of protection and victory over people who after being exposed want to wage war against the people who expose them. Many people who married women who are older than them are planning to divorce or abandon them. Ifa has warned them against that. Many women who have been searching for the fathers of their children will find them this year and the children will know their fathers. On this, Ifa says: Alagbede, alosi ma lotun A difa fun Orunmila Baba se awo lati eregbe deregbe Baba se awo lati eregbe deregbe Baba se awo de agbede orun kokoko O ba oluwo meta O ba ojugbona mefa O ba Araba baba moriwo O ba won ti won n te abuke nifa O ba won ti won n te aro nifa O ba won ti won n te afin nifa Won ni ike eyin abuke a kuro Won ni afin a di dudu Won ni aro a fese re rin Orunmila ni iro ni won n pa Won ni awon oo pa orunmila Won ni ki Orunmila wa lo ba won bo Ogun Won roso funfun Won ta moriwo mo aso ti Orunmila Won n pe o di mogun ka to sawo Orunmila ni agbe gbe mi de ilu mi Aluko a gbe mi ko ilu mi gbongbongbon Odidere ki i ku si oko iwaje Mo bo lowo olubi nigba yii o Obibo!
