Reflection 1:

In the third week of the teaching practice, my teacher came to observe me. I chose to teach an
English lesson, in the beginning of the lesson I started by saying good morning then I revised
with them the previous phonics that they took like, m, a, s, so they start remembering. I
showed them some flash cards that has some pictures that starts with the sounds that they
took, after that I showed them some other pictures that starts with letter D to check their
knowledge and I was so happy that they knew it all. The kids drew letter D on the air. Kids
needs repetition, so I brought my flashcards again to check their pronunciation. There are two
types of sounds, stretchy and bouncy. M and S are bouncy sounds, but A and D are bouncy
children knows the type of sound by pronouncing it. I asked children to put their hands behind
their back and walk with me to the groups. There are four groups in the classroom and they
are divided as colors and shapes, hexagon, rectangle and two circular groups and each group
has the following colors, blue, red, green and yellow. The kids came to the first group which is
the green group and I started explaining the activities. In this group I prepared some flash
cards that has pictures that begins with sounds m, a, s and d, and I brought some clips, so the
students can choose the right letter by putting the clips on it. The second group which is the
yellow group I printed letter D on a white paper and I brought some stones, so the kids can put
them on the letter to create letter D. the third group is the blue group I printed letter D and I
brought playdough so the kids can create the letter by putting the playdough on the white gap.
The fourth group is the red group, in this group, children should wright the new letter on the
white board by seeing the letter on the table. I asked them to go back to the carpet then I
divided them to the groups according to the number of boys and girls.
In this lesson there are some things that went well and things that didn’t go well. I think that I
chose the right activities which the children liked, and I liked the way how I let children go to
the next group and what didn’t go well, I think that classroom was a bit noisy and hyper active
in circle time area.
