The relation between indoor &Ventilation

At last time observe spread of respiratory syndrome

(Asthma).

The most time People maintains inside indoor , indoor air

quality has become important for quality life.

Indoor air affected by many factors such as (Ventilation

&Human activities, ……).

Indoor air pollution include (e.g Noᵪ ,SO₂, O3,particulate

matter(PM),…….),some of these pollutants common with

outdoor pollutants (e.g. Noᵪ ,SO₂,PM).

The effect of this pollutants on human health depend on

toxicity, concentration , exposure time and its different
from one to other.

This effect is called sick building syndrome (SBS) and it

reduce by good ventilation.

There are three way for outdoor air enter to indoor air
environment ,mechanical ventilation (air condation
,fan),natural ventilation (door , window ) & infiltration
(leak in building).

The ventilation consider important way to exchange

pollutants between indoor & outdoor air .

The particulate matter is common pollutant between

( indoor and outdoor )air pollution and have different

size (PM10 ,PM2.5 ).

The indoor source of PM include (cooking stoves,fire

place,smoking),power plant s,municipal solid waste
(MSW) incineration .

US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends

particles less than (10μm)in diameter be measured as
they are better indication of health effect.

If we adjust rate of ventilation as( independent variable)

,we can reduce PM as (dependent variables).

In home (Kitchen) ,We use filter to collect sample

( suspended particulates)two times on day 8-h (morning)
and other 8-h(night) through month and measuring by
gravimetric samples and continuous monitors .

Recored weight of filter paper (empty) and other with

sample collect difference in weight equal suspended
matter .

Under the same place (tools ),person which use place as

a control variables.

compare between result (data) under intense activity and

low activity .
