Reconstruction: 1865 to 1877
USII.3 The student will apply social
science skills to understand the effects of
Reconstruction on American life by
a) analyzing the impact of the 13th, 14th, and
15th Amendments to the Constitution of the
United States and how they changed the
meaning of citizenship;
c) describing the legacies of Abraham Lincoln,
Robert E. Lee, and Frederick Douglass.
The activity will consist of the students breaking up
into 5 different groups to create their own game to test
their knowledge. First the teacher will inform the
students that this is a review lesson, students do have
the ability to use previous notes to help create their
questions in regards to the SOL that was covered for
Reconstruction :1865 to 1877. Each group will get a
laptop with instructions on how to access the site.
Once on the site the students will input the questions
they created. The questions created will be based on
the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments as well as Robert
E. Lee, Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglas. Once
the game is completed each group would present while
the students use their cellphones to participate in the
game.

Directions for Use
Please provide step-by-step instructions for your

Before you submit, delete the explanatory text (the text in small italics).
The students will be using laptops provided by the
school to go on to the website quizizz.com to create
the game. Once the students are ready to participate
they will use their cellphones to access the website
quizalize to play.
1. Start up the computer
2. Open up Google Chrome
3. In the address bar type in www.quizizz.com
4. Once the website pulls up students will click on
the Log in button located on the right hand
side
5. The students will type in mrosa002@odu.edu
for the email and for the password type in
Class123
6. Once the student is logged in on the left hand
side underneath the name they will see create
a new quiz
7. Click on create new quiz
8. Create quiz name, select english as a language,
and hit save
9. Now click on create new question
10. They will enter a question in the question box,
and create different answers
11. Select the check mark next to the answer that
is correct
12. They can also select the time that they would
like the question to be on the screen
13. Now click save
14. Repeat steps 10- 13
15. Onc you are finish on the right hand corner
select finish quiz
16. Select the grade range & select subject & topic
17. Once game is completed and they are ready to
present the will click on host a live game
18. Next they will click proceed
