TP Task One – Promoting Scientific Thinking

This task is linked to EPR3703; using higher level questions (Bloom’s Taxonomy) to develop students’ thinking.
Teaching students, the skills of scientific thinking is not only for science class, but can be applied to any area of
learning.

Explain how questioning relates to Bloom’s taxonomy has different levels of questions that enhance
Bloom’s taxonomy and student learning. students’ learning and thinking. Higher level questions of bloom
as give the students opportunities to analyze, evaluate and
create, so asking students these types of questions will gives
them chances to think critically and use their prior knowledge
to explain their answers (Crowe, Dirks, & Wenderoth,2008).
Moreover, we can apply these questions for any type of learning
because the target of it is to develop students’ thinking and give
them chance to show their understanding.

Reflection

I think motivation questions is the most engagement questions because it’s an open question which help the students to be free to
answer, encouraged them to answer and think about the questions. Besides, it’s given the students opportunities to share their
knowledge and thoughts about the topic. Otherwise, showed the students a video in the engagement part is useful idea to attract
the students and catch their attention from the beginning.
