Letter of Intent for Chromebook Implementation

Nina Davoli

Spring Creek Elementary desires to integrate collaboration opportunities by

providing one-to-one Chromebooks in each classroom because through their use,
collaboration deepens their learning and understanding and helps students gain the
skills needed to work in groups. Chromebooks will allow the students to complete tasks
that otherwise are impossible to do without these devices. Each kindergartener through
5th grader will have access to a Chromebook so that they may research, work, and
collaborate digitally.

Through this funding, Spring Creek Elementary will acquire 18 carts that hold a
set of 30 Chromebooks in each. This will result in 540 Chromebooks to create a one-to-
one ratio for all students to have access to their own. Each grade level will house 3
carts centrally for their grade level usage.

At Spring Creek Elementary, 80% of the students are on free or reduced lunch.
They come from low-income households, where many do not have access to
technology devices at home. The students will greatly benefit from the use of these
Chromebooks at school, by helping them be better equipped for the 21st century
classroom. The Chromebooks will be implemented into each subject’s curriculum so
that students may use them for all academic areas. Through the use of the
Chromebooks, students will be able to strengthen their collaboration, research, and
learning skills, and therefore will score higher on assessments such as MAP and
STAAR.

Nina Davoli will be responsible for the administration and implementation of the
Chromebooks at Spring Creek Elementary School. Ms. Davoli will be the local point of
reference for this grant. She will oversee the entire process of the Chromebooks and
will be in further contact throughout this grant process.
