WHAT IS A
CHROMEBOOK?

 A Chromebook is a type of computer


that involves technology in a student's
curriculum at school and at home. This
one device is an online classroom that
can be taken home or anywhere. Parents
can also be involved in their student's
education. It is a great technology
introductory hardware for all students.
HOW TO USE A
CHROMEBOOK IN
THE CLASSROOM

Students will be provided with their own


assigned Chromebook through their school.
They will receive a log in and password to
unlock the device. The teacher will provide an
educational software and a dedicated time for
the student to use their Chromebook. Students
will be assigned interactive games and
activities to further enhance the lesson plan in
the classroom. Chromebooks are powered by
Google so the student can see their classes
through Google Classroom online and be
involved outside of the classroom.
PROS OF A CHROMEBOOK

 Cost effective
 Easy to use
 Convenient
 Teaches students basic computer skills
 Students and parents can access all their classwork on the Chromebook
 Can be taken home or kept in classroom
 Students can work anywhere without having to be dependent on
location
 Interactive lessons can be taught to increase student engagement and
interest
 Powered by Google
 Can communicate to other students and instructors
CONS OF A CHROMEBOOK

 Can encounter technical issues


 Lack of time to use in classroom
 Students or families will have to pay fees for any damage
 Need internet connection
 Websites may be blocked
 Teachers need workshops to learn how to properly use a Chromebook
