Automotive night vision (NVAS)
Automotive night vision or Night Vision Assisted System (NVAS) is a sytem to
increase a vehicle driver's perception and seeing distance in darkness or poor
weather beyond the reach of the vehicle's headlights. They are currently offered as
optional equipment on certain premium vehicles.

Why Night View??

The most common application for night vision is military. Soldiers like the one
flying the Apache rely on night vision goggles as much as they rely on weapons
and training. In short, night vision brings daylight to darkness. Pilot vision, rifle
vision for soldiers and even driver vision are all cutting-edge applications for night
vision technologies.

We know chances of being in a car accident are higher at night. That’s why need of
night vision felt by the manufacturers to make driving in the dark safer. The
leading car manufacturers BMW, Mercedes, Toyota have used this technology for
better driving in dark in their cars as an optional product.

Night vision assisted system provides a better vision in dark. Many drivers have
noticed a situation while night driving when suddenly an animal or any person
comes in front of the vehicle unnoticed it happens because the area of our vision at
night depends on the headlights of our vehicle. NVAS provides a wide vision with
the help of its infrared cameras. Also it not provide only the front view but also
back view or side view of the vehicle.

Features:
 Provides a better view at night with infrared technologies
 Higher resolution images using LCD
 Can be used as night navigation & rear view mirrors
 Head up displays or windshield display are on progress
 Doesn’t work in Fog or Rain
 Have shorter range of 150-200 meters or 500-600 ft. researches are being
done to increase the range
