Changes DC-Pile for Windows

Date Version Changes

Nov. 18 8.03 A load eccentricity is always applied into the direction of a moment load or a
horizontal force. If for an inclined pile a vertical load has a higher horizontal effect
V*sin(alpha) against the horizontal load, the eccentricity has to be applied into this
direction, because it would otherwise act favorably.

Nov. 18 8.02 In addition to the graphical display in diagrams, the section forces, modules of
foundation, deformation and soil pressure are printed in a table.

Aug. 18 8.00 The new pile type „Ductile driven pile“ is supported, acc. to certifications (Bauer,
Duktus) and OENORM B 2567. Design for steel pile + concrete filling, material cast
iron with strength acc. to certification. Optionally with verification of shaft grouting,
optionally with application of a driving shoe with greater diameter. The driving shoe
may be applied only for end bearing, or for skin friction as well (filling for the
diameter of the driving shoe). Available pipe profiles from ductile cast iron may be
selected in the latest version of the parameter file dcpara-u.dyx with the addition
„ductile“ in their name. The verification against buckling may be done without
support of soil („pf from soil layer data“ and input pf = 0 for the soil layer
parameters).

May 18 7.15 Use of the correct steel grade for the buckling analysis of driven steel piles.
Initialisation of the buckling curve and coefficient alpha only if the steel profile is
changed.

May 18 7.14 Acc. to the certification Ischebeck, for TITAN piles the characteristic capacity Rk has
to be determined depending on the concrete cover c for pressure as well. For c we use
the „edge distance reinforcement axis“ as an approximation. For this enhacement, a
new parameter file dcpara0.dyx (May, 2018) is required in the configuration directory.

May 18 7.12 Use of the correct steel bar diameter for the stability verification (buckling) depending
on the selected steel type.

Apr. 18 7.11 Improvement for the calculation of the required pile length: we now find a length
within one soil layers as well, even if the verification is not fulfilled for a larger pile
length down to the next soil layer limit due to a smaller end bearing of the next layer.

Mar. 18 7.10 Shear design acc. to Bender + Mark (Bautechnik 2006, Betonkalender 2008, Beton-
und Stahlbetonbau 2010) for bore piles with definition of a minimum installed
reinforcement from / until a certain depth for gradation of the reinforcement. In the
dialogs for selecting the skin friction and end bearing for the soil layers, we now offer
an interpolation for the available value of qc or cu and between the minimum and
maximum value in an area 0…1.

Jan. 18 7.01 In the calculation of the elastic support of the pile, we have to consider correctly that
acc. to DIN 1054:2010, 7.7.3, there is no more limitation of the pile diameter D to the
value of 1.0 m when calculation the modulus of foundation from the oedometric
modulus as ks = Es/D (or ks = M/D).

Nov. 17 7.00 Graphic functions for drawing and labelling in the graphics, separate handling of
graphics elements in the input window (displayed in every geometry graphics) and
single result graphics (displayed only in this page), DXF import with support of layers
to use the graphics as a background for the input of elements. The limitation of D to
1.0 for the determination of the modulus of foundation ks = Es/D is not covered in
DIN 1054:2010 and is therefore only used for DIN 1054:2005 and DIN 4014. The
verification of the activated earth block is done acc. to Eurocode 7, 7.6.3.1 (4) in limit
state UPL, EQU is not used for this verification. Minimum requirement for the
programs is now Windows 7, Windows XP is no longer supported.
Oct. 17 6.03 New formula for the minimum shear reinforcement acc. to SIA 262:2013 (5.5.2.2).

Sep. 17 6.01 For analysis acc. to OENORM, for spatial passive earth pressure and h/b ≥ 3.33 we
have to use sqrt(h/b) instead of h/b in the formulae acc. to OENORM B 4434:1993
chapter 8.10.3. Compare DIN 4085:1987, chapter 5.13.2.

Juni 17 6.00 Product DC-Pile/Npw available for the analysis of piles in slopes, e.g. for the
foundation of noise protection walls acc. to ZTV-Lsw 06 (approach by Vogt).
Available as an extension of program DC-Pile.

Mar. 17 5.27 The settlement s,sg resp. s,sg* in the resistance-settlement diagram has to be
determined from the value R,k by using the skin friction for s,sg resp. s,sg*.

Feb. 17 5.26 Deq = 1.13D is considered for quadratic full cross-sections of driven piles and labelled
in the resistance-settlement line. The available load is labelled with E,avail.

Dec. 16 5.25 The free length L app for the determination of the settlement at the pile head of micro
piles may be entered with a different value than the one calculated automatically by
the program. If the standard value should be determined again by the program, the
input field „Free length L app“ has to be deleted. Then the value is calculated again
with the next analysis. For inclined piles, the greater length within soil layers with a
weak skin friction is considered.

Dec. 16 5.24 The permanent load on the ground (new from version 5.21) is applied as a stabilizing
action for the activated earth block for tension piles.

Nov. 16 5.21 In addition to the loads on the pile a permanent distributed load on the ground may be
defined. This load is independent from the load cases and increases the passive earth
pressure as a limit for the horizontal soil pressure from elastic bedding for horizontal
loads.

Sep. 16 5.20 The verification of buckling is available for driven steel piles as well. For tension
micro piles acc. to Eurocode 7 Germany, acc. to DIN 1054:2010 7.6.3.2 (3c) the safety
factors for skin friction are increased with the model factor eta,M = 1.25. The safety
factor is then 1.875 instead of 1.50. For existing project files, under Project –
Name/Standard – Analysis standard Eurocode 7 Germany has to be selected again to
enter the new value. It is then shown in the dialog if for „Factors for…“ the option
Micro piles is selected.

July 16 5.10 Support of the T2W interface for import and restart of projects in VCmaster.

June 16 5.01 For the fixation of the pile head (see button „Parameters/head/foot“) a spring constant
for an elastic support may be defined.

June 16 5.00 For micro piles the buckling analysis (stability verification acc. to Eurocode 3) is
available. Selection by checking „buckling analysis“ in the input window. The
required parameters may be defined over the button „Parameters“.

May 16 4.311 For CFA piles the dialogs like for bore piles are displayed over the buttons „Selection
skin frict.“ and „Selection end bear.“ on the page „Soil layers”.

Nov. 15 4.38 When calculating the weight of the activated earth block for tension piles the volume
of the pile has to be substracted, because its weight is added later for the verification
against uplift.

If “ZTVK form” is selected in the menu Project and the older version of the form is
present, the new one may be selected with Settings - Header ZTVK – „create standard
header again”.
Oct. 15 4.36 For the increased safety factor (reduced steel stress) for GEWI micro piles under
tension in permanent use with standard corrosion protection the determination of a
tension force is corrected. Goto function now with page number.

Oct. 15 4.35 In the new parameter file dcpara(-u).dyx we added the new values for Ischebeck
TITAN anchors acc. to certification 2014. In DC-Pile the values are used for tension
piles depending on the concrete cover incl. the new value c = 45 mm acc. to table 6.

Sep. 15 4.34 In the graphics-based output a function „Find“ (menu item Edit - Find or shortcut Ctrl-
F) and a function „Goto“ (View – Goto or Ctrl-G) to jump to specific load cases are
available. The step size (depth steps) for the design table may be defined in the
configuration, see Settings – Configuration – Print.

Dez. 14 4.32 Correction for the safety factor for live loads with horizontal loads and moments.

Aug. 14 4.30 For tension piles we can distinguish between the limit states equilibrium (EQU) and
Uplift (UPL) for the verification of the activated earth block (only for analysis acc. to
Eurocode 7).

May 14 4.21 Acc. to the 2nd edition of the Recommendations on Piles there are smaller factors of
eta for end bearing and skin friction for steel girder profiles, steel pipes and box
girders. For rectangular and H profiles we use the equivalent diameter D,eq for the
related settlement values of the resistance-settlement line. If tosion springs are applied
at the pile head / toe, the spring constants are printed in the results.

Nov. 13 4.112 The head deformation and head rotation of the pile are printed in the results.

July 13 4.17 Acc. to DIN 1054:2010 modification A1:2012-08 the passive earth pressure fort he
verification of the earth resistance is calculated again down to the turning point (like
in DIN 1054:2005) instead of the zero point of the shear force.

May 13 4.15 Output of the ground water depth, display of a depth scale with the diagrams of
section forces.

Mar. 13 4.13 Acc. to DIN 1054:2010, for the horizontal earth resistance we have to sum up the
