Industrial Revolution 4.

0 and Its Impact on the Education System

We cannot deny that the increasingly sophisticated technology that is developing will inevitably bring

about significant changes in various sectors of life. One interesting topic is related to the relationship of

industrial revolution 4.0 with the education system in Indonesia, according to me regarding the impact

of industry 4.0, namely the 'digitalization of the system', inevitably demands both lecturers and students

to be able to quickly adapt to changes. The learning system that was originally based on face-to-face

directly in class, it is not impossible to be replaced with a learning system that is integrated through the

internet network (online learning). The existence of these changes also has a risk-benefit analysis, where

the benefits that can be obtained include students can still learn and still be able to access learning

materials without having to be in class, this is also a distinct advantage for students who experience

obstacles in terms of distance and finance .

Another thing, as for the problems that can arise related to this is the demand for the role of

PTN / PTS to succeed in producing graduates who are able to compete both nationally and

internationally with these changes, the facilities and infrastructure needed to support existing changes.

As an example of a new breakthrough made by 2 world leading universities (Harvard and MIT) related to

the readiness to face the industrial revolution 4.0, namely by creating a special portal that provides free

online learning and can be accessed by anyone, it is not impossible now to learn from Quality instructors

from two of the world's leading campuses are not currently impossible to realize.
