Applications
Xylene is an aromatic solvent used for dissolving organic deposits (such as paraffin and asphaltene) in the
tubing/wellbore, on the formation face and near-wellbore region of oil wells. Normally surfactant and dispersant
are used in conjunction with xylene to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment, and to keep the dissolved
organic remained in the solution. Sometimes static soaking may be required for maximum effectiveness.
