How do you feel teacher leaders (Connectors, Specialists, Mentors) are impacting the
collaborative culture at Jesup CSD?
78% of staff see high impact:
● “They are helping to grow us as educators, which requires us to collaborate, learn from them, and do our best to improve
our culture. Because of the innovative ideas they are presenting, they are attempting to raise the standard.”
● “I believe that this year's structure...building level & PD focused has been a positive change and increased collaboration
within our building. We've worked together, shared resources, document progress... all as a building. Several staff have
shared that they really enjoy the structure of this year and hope that it continues!”
● “ In terms of the the whole school collaboration and culture our teacher leaders drive the collaboration and make our
culture very positive and encouraging. As a new teacher I feel so supported and welcome!”
16% of staff are seeing little impact at this time:
● “I think they are trying to be more collaborative, but they are stretched for time.”
● They are doing the best they can but some courses are very hard to find things to collaborate on.
● “I think the start process is good! I've had 2 specialists come in and chat with me about things, and I know that my big
tasks will come in the 2nd quarter. So, right now I'm waiting for the good to happen :)”
6% of staff are uncertain or not seeing the impact at this time:
● “I don't really see it. The work takes place "behind the scenes" or during my own instructional time.”
● “Hard to say.”
● “Not sure yet”

I think to keep doing what you are doing!! I love working with all of you!
This question is hard for me to answer because I am so new to our District, but my thought would be to touch base with new
people as quickly as possible and to help them really start out on the right foot. This situation happened to me and it has been
the BEST way to start the school year off right.
PD days more often to meet with other grade levels- maybe twice a month?
Maybe working their way through each classroom in the school 1 by 1 and visiting and having talks with those teachers on
things they can help with within those rooms.
I would like to see the current work continue at least at the elementary. I know the elementary staff really enjoy the way things
are working this year. However, because of the building level nature I would like to see what is going well throughout other
buildings.
To just keep on doing what they're doing. They also find outside training and PD opportunities that we otherwise don't know
about to attend or to attend for us to bring back important information we'd like to hear/know about.
I think maybe showing some of the learning tree PLC videos that show what collaboration within the PLC model looks like, might
help.
I'd like to see an introduction (again) of what our specialists are focusing on, and what their goals are in helping us achieve our
professional development goals.
Get us in each others' classrooms!
I would like to see them more or have more contact with them, especially if they aren't in my building. I think it would be
interesting to interact with the other buildings and get their feedback.
Be more in control of PD. We don't want things thrown at us and then not giving time to adjust or enough information to do it
correctly.
There's no time for opportunities - Collab would be so much better with TLC intervention, instead it's even worse than normal.
Share lessons or activities with us that show ways teachers of different subject areas can collaborate on lessons.
We need an official block of time to collaborate and actually plan things for class. If I want to work collaborative unit I need time
to work weekly or daily with others.
Possibly look more outside the buildings. Look for collaborative opportunities with community members and businesses.
Keep seeking out ways to connect people who may not always have opportunities to work together.
Incorporate more content area based collaboration across the entire school.
