1 SCOPE
This procedure describes the field inspection for JFEBEAR.

2 PIN THREAD INSPECTION


The tools and gauges required for field inspection may vary dependent on the
particular situation, but for most running and pulling operations the following
equipment is sufficient:

Depth Gauge (Pit gauge)


Rotary tools1
Fine Tooth Triangle File (Small)
Scotch Brite
Emery Cloth
Scale or Vernier Calipers

The pin thread inspection criteria and actions are shown in Fig. 1.
Inspection is conducted visually and by touch of hand, any repairs to the
connection should be conducted in accordance O Mwith the requirements of Fig.1.

The box thread inspection criteria and actions are shown in Fig. 3.
Inspection is conducted visually and by touch of hand, any required repairs to
the connection should be conducted in accordance with the requirements of
Fig.3.
Slight burrs or damage to threads may be removed with emery cloth and
moderate damage may be repaired with file, followed with emery cloth.
