Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

The PowerPoint can be uploaded as an MP4 so the students can take it home with them to study and share
with their parents. It also has my voice reading it to the students if they do choose to open it at home. This
really can help students who have disabilities that affect their reading. Having voice over on the presentation
also allows English learners to hear proper English and if their parents do not speak English it gives them the
chance to hear it as well and see what their children should be learning. The student can replay it as much as
they would like and go back to previous slides or skip over slides as well.

Lesson idea implementation:

As a whole class, we will go over the e-book on PowerPoint together. I will pause with the question to let
the students answer. I will give them all white boards for them to write their answer on and hold up for me to
assess whether or not they know and then I will flip to the answer. I would use this e-book towards the
middle of the Georgia Regions unit to see what my students know.
This allows me to see the students understanding very quickly and assess where the students stand and
what I need to teach more in depth on. To add difficulty to the task, I could ask the students if they know any
facts about the region. This quick assessment allows me to give my students feedback instantly that they are
all right or who needs to double check their answer. It gives me an idea of which students might need extra
support and pulled into a small group.

Reflective Practice:
I think this assessment is fun and quick for the classroom. It makes a good half point check-in for the teacher
and students for the Georgia Regions unit. I think that this could also be changed into a Kahoot game for even
more technological engagement for the students. I could add in fun facts and the region they belong into for
the students to really begin to understand what belongs within the regions and what makes them different

from each other, especially the Northern regions. This e-book is most beneficial because the students can use
it at home and their parents can learn from it as well if they don’t already know.
