Walid Zgallai, PhD, SFHEA, DIC

Dr Zgallai has a PhD in Electrical Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) from City


University London, UK, 2007, an MSc in Communications and Signal Processing from
University of London, London, UK, 1993, a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
from Kuwait University, Kuwait, 1992, a Diploma of Imperial College (DIC), Imperial
College of Science, Medicine and Technology, UK, 1993, and a Post Graduate
Certificate in Learning and Teaching, Thames Valley University, UK, 2009. He has 35
peer-reviewed publications in international journals and conferences. He collaborated
with industry for many years, including Huntleigh Healthcare Int Ltd, UK, Royal Free
Hospital, London, UK, and North Middlesex Hospital, London, UK. He obtained five
research grants with circa 1 M AED. He collaborated also with Scottish and Southern
Energy (SSE) UK, the National Grid UK, and E On UK. He has been a Reviewer for IEEE, IET,
EPSRC UK, and Elsevier. He has been a Fellow of the HEA, UK, since 2009 and he is a
Senior Fellow of HEA, UK, since January 2018. He has been an External Examiner for
the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Programmes at University of London, London,
UK, at Stamford College, Malaysia, and at Legenda Linton College, Malaysia, as well as
a Member of the Board of Examiners in Electrical Engineering at Aston University,
Birmingham, UK. He has worked in several Higher Education Institutions, including
University of London, London, UK, and University of West London, London, UK. He has
been a Tutor in the Deakin University HCT Masters programme in Education Policy and
Management. He is a Certified Mentor by the UK Association for Coaching.
