Dear Vernon H. Warnke,

For as long as I can remember I have loved action. When I was in High School I volunteered
with the Merced County Sheriff Explorers as well as the Search and Rescue. It has had a really
big impact on my life ever since. I don’t think I would be where I am today without it. I am
applying for the K-9 Unit, when I started looking for jobs there weren’t many options open but I
waited until something came along. I believe that I can benefit and I can really help out this
department.

I am interested in working with you guys and building a relationship that will last a lifetime. I
want to help make Merced a better place, and help the community. After highschool I stayed in
the Explorers program and Search and Rescue program, while working full time and being a full
time student. It was difficult in the first couple weeks but I got it down and overcome the
hardships and focused on the true meaning. I have worked many times with Sheriff department
as well with the K-9 Units doing things that most people never have thought of before.

I highly believe that your department can benefit from having me on the force. I look forward to
