Report on activities of Yoga and Pranayama Committee

Academic Year 2018-19

Simple exercises for warming up the body, soorya namaskaras for body flexibility,
simple exercises for hands, chanting prayer for beginning, and separate asana for stomach such
as mandookasana, ushtrasana and ardachandrasana are done every day. In addition to this
breathing exercices like bastrika Pranayama, kapalabathi Pranayama, ujjayi, brahmari, karna
peeda hanthaka, tribanda, agnisara kriye and anuloma viloma Pranayama and Shavasana are
done every day.

Key points regarding Yogasanas

 The timing of the yoga is 5.30 AM to 7.00 AM every day.


 Yoga is provided for the college faculty, the students and public.
 Yoga is done every day without any holiday due to Sunday or festivals.
 Yoga is done at the college seminar hall without any fees.
 On 8.4.18, yoga and special lecture was arranged at 5.30 AM. The resource persons were
Mr. Subramani and Mr. Manohar.
 Mrs. Uma, the yoga teacher has taught new methods of doing yoga on 07.05.2018.
 On 21st June 2018, International Yoga Day was organized under the president-ship of Prof.
Mohan Kumar, the principal of the college.
 On 02.10.2018, all the participants in Yoga have cleaned college ground.
 On 01.11.2018, there was celebration of Kannada Rajyotsava day. Mr. Manje Gowda, the
retired Head master, yoga member, Hassan has given a speech on importance of kannada.
 On 5.11.2018, Dr. Ramesha V, Yoga Committee Convener has delivered a speech on
“Benefits of Being Silence”
 Prof. Krishnappa, Retired principal & Yoga teacher has given speech on health tips.
 On Rathasapthami Day, 108 sooryanamaskarasans are put to the god of the Sun.
