MY FRIEND, A KIDNAPPER

Aunty Lia, a single mother who lives with her son and sister, Ryan and Isha. Aunty Lia came
home from work to see no show of Ryan. They called everyone who could have been in contact
with him to get to know that he had went out with an unknown man after school hours, both
seemingly friendly. His friends described the man as a suspicious person as his friends had not
heard of the man before. It was then clear to both Aunty Lia and Isha that their son had been
kidnapped when the kidnapper called to ask for a ransom at 11.00pm. The kidnapper even
threaten to hurt her son if they reported it to the police.

Aunty Lia : My son..MY SON! How could such an incident happen! He was just going to
school as usual this morning. Why would such a misfortune happen on him?
GOD, PLEASE HELP US! All I want is for him to return safely.

Isha : Lia, let’s calm down and get our consciences together. There’s no time for us
rant now. Focus!

Aunty Lia : What can we possibly do? We can’t even call the police! We don’t own any
firearms. We don’t even have any basic defensive skills!

Isha : Let’s get help from our neighbourhood committee. We’ve always been friendly.
I’m certain we can find a way out of this.

(Aunty Lia and Isha rushed to the Rukun Tetangga office, their residential neighbourhood watch
organisation)

Isha : Muttu! I’m glad you’re still here. I am in urgent need of your help, and also from
your forces.

Muttu : What’s the matter, Isha? Both of you look dreaded. Over here, have a sit.

Aunty Lia : My son has been kidnapped. We are unable to call the police. We have the
money that they asked for but we are still uncertain if handing them the ransom
would give us, especially our son, a safe end.

Isha : Yes, Muttu. We can give them everything that we have but Ryan. We just want
Ryan back!
Muttu : Oh god! Please let my team and I lend you a hand in this. I’ve encountered
situations worse than this where murder even took place. You can put your trust
on us.

Isha : Thank you so much, Muttu. I know you will do your best to help us get Ryan
back. I lay all trust and hope on you, for good and for worse, we really need your
help and I am greatly thankful for your selflessness in helping us here. Now, we
need to cash out the ransom immediately. The deadline is drawing near!

Muttu : I’ll get my forces to guard you at the bank. Lia, I think it is best that you stay put
here. I don’t think you’re in a suitable condition to be involved. I’ll have my wife to
accompany you here. Just seek help from god to ease everything for us,
especially our safety.

Aunty Lia : What? No! That’s my son we’re talking about! How could I just sit and do
nothing?

Isha : Lia, I think Muttu is right. You can put your trust on me, can’t you?

Aunty Lia : Alright. Everyone, please come back in one piece!

(Muttu called out four men, Harry, Styles, Zayn and Malik from his committee to escort Isha to
the bank. While Isha was at the bank, the four men, equipped with stakes, guarded him. As he
was withdrawing money from the automated teller machine (ATM), Isha received a phone call
from an unknown number. Isha and the four men was astonished.)

Isha : (picks up the phone call) …Hello?

(Ryan panting over the phone)

Ryan : AUNTY LIA! IT’S ME, RYAN!

Isha : Ryan? RYAN! Where are you?

Ryan : I’m currently free from the hands of the kidnapper. I’m running to Mid Valley!

Isha : Okay, stay right there! I’m coming to get you. Do not go anywhere else!

(Malik drove Isha and the other three men to Mid Valley in a lightning speed. They reached
there in no time.)

Ryan : AUNTY ISHA!!!

Isha : (runs towards Ryan, checking his condition) OH MY GOD, RYAN!! Are you hurt
anywhere? Did the kidnapper harmed you in anyway?

Ryan : I’m fine, aunty Isha. They did not hurt me anywhere. They just wanted to use
me to get some fast cash from mummy. Where is mummy? Is she okay? I bet
she’s in a traumatic state now.

Isha : She’ll be totally relived once you’re back in her arms. Please thank these uncles
here. They were as worried as we were.

Ryan : I don’t think I can I can thank you enough for the rest of my life for helping out
my family.

(The four men acknowledged his thankfulness with a show of hands while nodding with a smile,
seemingly expressionless)
