A LARGE PART OF THE DISSOLVED COMPONENTS OF SEAWATER IS
PRESENT AS ION PAIRS OR IN COMPLEXES, RATHER THAN AS SIMPLE
IONS. WHILE THE MAJOR CATIONS ARE LARGELY UNCOMPLEXED, THE
ANIONS OTHER THAN CHLORIDE ARE TO VARYING DEGREES PRESENT
IN THE FORM OF COMPLEXES. ABOUT 13 PERCENT OF THE MAGNESIUM
AND NINE PERCENT OF THE CALCIUM IN OCEAN WATERS EXIST AS
MAGNESIUM SULFATE AND CALCIUM SULFATE, RESPECTIVELY. MORE
THAN 90 PERCENT OF THE CARBONATE, 50 PERCENT OF THE SULFATE,
AND 30 PERCENT OF THE BICARBONATE EXIST AS COMPLEXES. MANY
MINOR OR TRACE COMPONENTS OCCUR PRIMARILY AS COMPLEX
IONS AT THE PH AND THE REDOX POTENTIAL OF SEAWATER.

IN SEAWATER THE BULK PH IS 8 TO 8.3; HOWEVER, DUE TO CATHODIC
PRODUCTION OF OH– THE PH VALUE AT THE METAL SURFACE
INCREASES SUFFICIENTLY FOR DEPOSITION OF CACO3 AND A SMALL
EXTENT OF MG(OH)2 TOGETHER ITH IRON HYDROXIDES. THESE
DEPOSITS FORM A SURFACE LAYER THAT REDUCES OXYGEN
DIFFUSION. DUE TO THIS AND OTHER CORROSION INHIBITING
COMPOUNDS, SUCH AS PHOSPHATES, BORIC ACID, ORGANIC SALTS,
THAT ARE PRESENT, THE AVERAGE CORROSION RATE IN SEAWATER IS
USUALLY LESS THAN THAT OF SOFT FRESH WATER. AN EXCEPTION
OCCURS WHEN A MATERIAL IS IN THE SPLASH ZONE IN SEAWATER,
WHERE A THIN WATER FILM THAT FREQUENTLY WASHES AWAY THE
LAYER OF CORROSION DEPOSITS EXISTS ON THE SURFACE A
MAJORITY OF THE TIME, RESULTING IN THE HIGHEST OXYGEN SUPPLY
AND LEADING TO THE HIGHEST CORROSION RATE IN SLOWLY
FLOWING SEAWATER, THE CORROSION RATE OF ALUMINUM IS 1 TO 5
ΜM/YEAR, WHEREAS FOR CARBON STEEL IT IS 100 TO 160 ΜM/YEAR

ANALISA TEKNIS SACP

Anoda dipasang dengan cara di las pada bagian


lengan anoda dan disambung-kan langsung pada
badan kapal. Pada bagian lengan anoda yang
dihubungkan langsung pada kapal, lapisan
coatingnya dihilangkan, hal ini bertujuan agar
aliran arus dari anoda lebih efektif, tidak
terhambat oleh coating. Anoda dipasang pada
bagian-bagian kapal yang telah ditentukan pada
tahap pendesain- an sesuai dengan lay out. Untuk
sistem maintenance dari Sacrificial Anode Catho-
dic Protection (SACP) berdasar pada NACE
RP0176 (NACE, 2002). Maintenance sys-tem
Sacrificial Anode Cathodic Protection (SACP)
dilakukan dengan cara penggantian anoda setiap
2 tahun sekali. Penggantian dilakukan dengan
cara yang sama saat instalasi.

Data Anoda yang digunakan dalam system Sacrificial Anode


Cathodic Protec-tion (SACP) dengan material titanium.
Komponen-komponen yang terdapat pada sistem ICCP
adalah, Power Supply Unit (Rectifier), Anode, Reference cell,
Remote Monitoring Panel, Rudder Stock Bonding, Shaft
Earthing Device. Analisa teknis adalah peninjauan sistem
dalam bidang teknis. Hal ini berhubungan dengan kelayakan
sistem ICCP dalam melakukan kinerjanya. Diawali dengan
pendesaian sistem sesuai kebutuhan objeknya yang
berdasarkan code Det Norske Veritas Recommended Practise
(DnV RP) B104 Cathodic Design (2005). Bukan hanya
pendesainan saja yang diperhatikan, tetapi instalasi
(pemasangan), dan maintenance (perawatan) sistem ini harus
diperhatikan. Hal ini bertujuan agar sistem tetap berjalan
efisien, efektif, dan lancar.
