ISSUE 1 REVISION 0
SEVERE WEATHER PLAN 1st April 2019
INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION

Throughout its history, aviation has had an intimate relationship with the
weather. Time has brought improvements - better aircraft, improved air
navigation systems and a systemized program of pilot training. Despite this,
weather continues to exact its toll.

In the aviation world, ‘weather’ tends to be used to mean not only “what’s
happening now?” but also “what’s going to happen during my flight?”. Based on
the answer received, the pilot & associated staff ( Maintenance & ground will take
the necessary precautions / actions )

It is prudent of the operator to develop their own in-house “ Severe Weather

Plan” so that it focuses on the finer nuances of those affecting the aircraft that
are owned and operated by the organization and also keep in mind the well being
and safety of the crew handling the aircraft ( Pilot, Maintenance & Ground Staff ).
This “Severe Weather Plan” is to serve as a guideline for the organization and it
shall endeavour to cover all aspects, and it may be necessary by the personnel
who are executing the tasks in this plan to go beyond the prescribed activities as
weather can be “unpredictable”, hence taking atmost caution and going beyond
the plan will also be appreciated.

This “Severe Weather Plan” is to serve as a guideline for personnel associated

with the organization and its aircrafts.
