Tag Rugby Fixture Night
This week the Tag Rugby U9’s played Brinsworth
Howarth away. Brinsworth Manor won 8-2. Well done
to everyone who took part. Next week the Under 9s
play Whiston Worrygoose at home.
Easter Competition
As we had a very successful bake off during world
book day we would like to do the same for our
Easter competition. Please send in cakes or buns
with an Easter or Spring theme. The most imaginative
or creative design will win a prize. Please send the
cakes or buns in Tuesday 9th April. There will be a
cake sale after school on the same day – thank
you!!
This is a change of date from the events calendar.
Year 6 Uniform Sizing Event Brinsworth Academy
Some parents have been given an early timeslot
(2.30-3.15pm) to take their child to Brinsworth
Academy for the Y6 Uniform Sizing Event on
Wednesday 10th April. If this timeslot applies to your
child please come to the school office to sign your
child out on the day.
Year 5 Science Exhibition
On Thursday 11th April Y5 are holding a Science
Exhibition at 9am. As part of their science topic
‘Changes’ Y5 have been conducting lots of exciting
experiments and carrying out fair testing. Y5 parents
and carers are invited to their exhibition to view all of
their magnificent experiments and find out what
they have been learning.
Year 5 Bikeability
The Y5 Bikeability training is due to start the week
commencing 29th April. Several children have not
returned the bike safety check form. Without this
they will not be able to take part in the training.

replacement safety check form.
Breakfast Club
We hope that the children are enjoying their morning
bagel slice. Unfortunately we can only offer bagels
to our Junior children as we only have funding for our
children.
Please let school know by calling the office as soon
as possible if you are interested in the new Breakfast
Club.

Attendance
Just a reminder that our annual school target from
the local authority is 96.5% and at the end of
every half term you will receive an attendance
letter. These are to either congratulate pupils and
parents or to remind parents of attendance
figures and that the Education Welfare Officer is
available for support if needed. We are currently
just below our target and unfortunately will fall
lower due to unauthorised holidays taken in term
time. We do try to help families if time is taken for
compassionate circumstances.
Thank you to those parents who continually
support us. We will soon be awarding all children
with excellent attendance!
Uniform Reminder – the uniform applies to all pupils in
school and the majority of our pupils and families
adhere to this policy. However, we are currently
aware that blue jeans and different coloured shoes
are being worn by some pupils. The uniform was
voted in by parents and governors – please help to
keep our school smart. We will send reminders home
to address the matter. If you have an issue with this
then please speak to Mrs Hill.
 Red sweatshirt / cardigan
 White or red polo shirt
 Black or grey trousers or skirt
 Black or grey socks for boys
 White socks for girls
 Black shoes/black trainers(no logos or patterns)
 Black head scarf for girls(where required)
For Summer
 Red checked dress for girls (or ordinary uniform
as above)
 Tailored shorts for boys black or grey(with school
polo shirt / sweatshirt / cardigan)
For P.E (all children)
 White Tee shirt
 Black shorts (girls may wear black footless
leggings for indoor)
 Black Plimsolls or black trainers
 For outdoor P.E children may bring a black
tracksuit without logos or patterns

o Friday pm – Y6
Warning: Please do not allow your children
to play in the trees or on the top of the
Brinsworth Manor playing fields and pond
area unsupervised.
