Welcome to another edition of the
Brinsworth Manor Junior School Newsletter.
Our School Values

Our values are important because they help us to
grow and develop. They help us to create the future
we want to experience. They make us into the
people we want to be and enable us to live in a
society that cares for one another.
Crucial Crew
On Monday, Y6 will be visiting the Lifewise centre at
Hellaby. They will take part in an enactment of Youth
Court, they will learn about road safety and fire risks
at home. They will need a packed lunch and a
drink(no fizzy drinks please) and will need to wear
school uniform.
Girls Football Competition
On Monday the Under 9’s girls football team took
part in a girl’s School Football Competition. They
played really well and came fifth. Well done to
everyone who played.
Wednesday Football Fixture Night
On Wednesday Brinsworth Manor Juniors Under 11’s
played Whiston Worrygoose at home. In a well
fought match, we won by 7 - 2! Well done to
everyone who took part. Next week the Under 9’s
take on Canklow Woods away.
Last Fixture and won the competition overall!
Amazing!
Macmillan Coffee Morning/Afternoon 7th November
We will be supporting Macmillan this year by holding
a coffee morning on 7th November for Y3 / Y4 from
9-10am and a coffee afternoon for Y5/Y6 2-3pm.
Parent Consultation Week
Parent Consultation week will be held from Monday
25th-Thursday 28th November. Please put the dates in
your diaries. Booking will be online as usual and you
will be invited to book online, closer to the week.
Viking Day Y4 1st October
Year 4 has a great deal of fun on Tuesday with their
Viking visitor. They handled replicas of Viking
artefacts, enjoyed a live re-enactment of a Viking
pace!
saga and learnt and then played a range of Viking
games.
Young Voices
The choir have been given letters regarding ordering
tickets, t-shirts and DVDs for the Young Voices
concert at the Sheffield Arena on 9th January 2020.
All tickets, t-shirts and DVDs must be ordered and
paid for on Parentpay by Monday 4th November
2019. We are only able to order tickets, t-shirts and
DVDs that have been paid for by this date.

Attendance
Well done to Iguana and Osprey classes 99.2% and
99.1% attendance. As you will know our annual
school target is 96.5%. Thank you to all of our parents
who continually support us to achieve our
attendance target. Please remember to phone
school and leave a message if your child is unwell
and off school.
Parent Governor
We have a vacancy on the Governing body for a
Parent Governor. If you would like to volunteer for
this position please call into the school office.
Plastic water bottles
We provide your child with a plastic water bottle
that can be used throughout the day – however if
you wish your child to have bottled water from
home then please send this with them in the
morning. Please do not bring large water bottles,
milk drinks, fruit juice or fizzy drink. As we are an
Eco School please remember to take your plastic
bottles home to recycle them.

Jewellery
For safety reasons, can we please ask that children
do not wear earrings for P.E. If the piercing is new
and they cannot be removed, then can we ask that
your child brings tape to cover them.
NSPCC Sponsor Money
Thank you to everyone who supported the
NSPCC. We raised an amazing £1881.22
Flu Vaccinations 4th December 2019
This year Intra Health are offering nasal flu
vaccinations to all children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6.
They will be coming into school on 4th December
to immunise pupils. Consent forms will be available
online via a link which we will provide nearer the
date. Parents must use the link to either say yes or
no to the immunisation of their child.
Dinner Money
School dinners cost £2.10 per day or £10.50 per week.
Dinners should be paid for in advance either weekly
on a Monday morning or monthly if you prefer. Alerts
can be set up on Parentpay to let you know when
the balance is zero. Information is available in the
office.
