Manor Junior School Newsletter

Our values are important because they help us to
grow and develop. They help us to create the
future we want to experience.
Random Acts of Kindness:
There will be an advent calendar in class, where the
children have a good deed to do every day to spread
kindness. There is an example with the newsletter if you
would like to join in too!
Book Advent Calendar:
Every day in December a new book from our school
library will be delivered to your child’s class. Parts of the
books will be read to the class and each day a
different child will get to take the book home as their
reading book (please return once read). There are
some really exciting books to go out! You may even get
some stocking filler ideas.
Enterprise Reminder
The Enterprise Fair is on the 14th December at 2.00pm.
Look out for the advertisements of what’s on sale in
next week’s newsletter.
Digital Parenting Magazine
This week you should have received the latest edition of
Digital Parenting Magazine. We hope that this will keep
you informed about supporting your child in keeping
safe when online. More updates will be sent out over
the year.
Parent Consultation Week
Thank you to everyone who attended the Parent
Consultation Meetings this week. We hope you found
the evenings informative. We had some very useful
feedback from parents about the breakfast clubs.
Once we have fully analysed the responses we will let
you know what type of breakfast provision you have
requested we develop.
School Basketball tournaments
Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who
supported Y5 at the school basketball tournament on
pace!
Wednesday. Dolphin class were the winners. Well done
to everyone who has taken part. Next week Y3 play on
Wednesday 5th December at 1.30pm in the school hall.
Basketball Fixtures
The Under 9 basketball team played away at Canklow
Woods this week. In a hard fought match Brinsworth
Manor won 8-6. Well done to everyone who played.
Next week we ‘take on’ Brinsworth Howarth away.

Rotherham Hospital Christmas Fair
Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity are
asking for donations of Christmas selection
boxes and sweet treats for Santa to surprise
children with, at their Christmas Fair on Tuesday
4th December. Please send any selection box or
homemade cake donations to the school office
before Tuesday and school will ensure they get
to the hospital in time for the fair.
Flu Immunisation
The flu vaccination take-up in school for Years
3, 4 and 5 was lower than expected. Paper
copies of the flu consent form are now
available in the office and if sufficient consents
are returned the NHS will arrange a further
immunisation day in school. Please collect a
copy from the office if your child did not receive
the flu vaccination last week.
Attendance
Just a reminder that our annual school target from
the local authority is 96.5% and at the end of every
half term you will receive an attendance letter. These
are to either congratulate pupils and parents or to
remind parents of attendance figures and that the
Education Welfare Officer is available for support if
needed. We always offer support to ensure that you
have all resources available to you. Please contact
school if you do not understand the information in
the letter.
Dinner Money
School dinners cost £2.05 per day or £10.25 per week.
Dinners should be paid for in advance either weekly
on a Monday morning or monthly if you prefer. If your
account falls into debit you will be asked to bring
sandwiches for your child until the debt is cleared.
Alerts can be set up on Parentpay to let you know
when the balance is zero. Information is available in
the office. Thank you to all those parents who
continue to support school by paying for school
dinners and keeping their accounts in credit.
