Welcome to another edition of the
Brinsworth Manor Junior School Newsletter.

Y3 Trip to Filey
Today Y3 have been on a school trip to Filey. They
have spent the day on the beach comparing
different types of rocks, looking for fossils and
describing how they are formed. They have used
straightforward scientific evidence to answer
questions and to support their findings. Everyone was
very well behaved and a great day has been had
by all.
Wednesday Football Fixture Night
On Wednesday Brinsworth Manor Juniors Under 11’s
played Canklow Woods at home. In a well fought
match Brinsworth Manor won by 11 to 1! Well done
to everyone who took part. Next week they are
away at Brinsworth Howarth School.
Rotherham Schools Football Competition
On Tuesday the Y3 and Y4 boys football team took
part in the Rotherham Schools Football Competition
at Clifton Comprehensive. Through excellent
teamwork our under 9 team won every game they
played. They are now through to the finals in
October at Maltby Comprehensive. Well done to
everyone who played and a big thank you to the
parents who supported the competition,
transporting their children to the event.
NSPCC Sponsor Money
Please ensure all NSPCC Sponsor money is returned
to school by Monday 23rd September. Thank you as
always to all those family and friends who have
supported this event.
Cauliflower Cards
If you would like to design your own Christmas card
please fill in the order form and return your
pace!
completed design to school. Payment must be
made on ParentPay and the deadline is Monday
30th September to get everything back to us to
ensure they are collected in time.
Digital Parenting
We are sending home tonight a Digital Parenting
leaflet which is a guide to help your family live a
better digital life. It covers issues such as a safe start
to social media, setting the right boundaries and
sleeping v scrolling.

Attendance
Well done to Osprey and Seahorse classes on 100%
attendance. As you will know our annual school
target is 96.5%. Thank you to all of our parents who
continually support us to achieve our attendance
target. Please remember to phone school and leave
a message if your child is unwell and off school.
Parent Governor
We have a vacancy on the Governing body for a
Parent Governor. If you would like to volunteer for
this position please call into the school office.
Plastic water bottles
We provide your child with a plastic water bottle
that can be used throughout the day – however if
you wish our child to have bottled water from
home then please send this with them in the
morning. Please do not bring large water bottles,
fruit juice or fizzy drink.

Jewellery
For safety reasons, can we please ask that children
do not wear earrings for P.E. If the piercing is new
and they cannot be removed, then can we ask that
your child brings tape to cover them.
Flu Vaccinations 4th December 2019
This year Intra Health are offering nasal flu
vaccinations to all children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6.
They will be coming into school on 4th December
to immunise pupils. Consent forms will be available
online via a link which we will provide nearer the
date. Parents must use the link to either say yes or
no to the immunisation of their child.
Dinner Money
School dinners cost £2.10 per day or £10.50 per week.
Dinners should be paid for in advance either weekly
on a Monday morning or monthly if you prefer. Alerts
can be set up on Parentpay to let you know when
the balance is zero. Information is available in the
office.
