Welcome to another edition of the
Brinsworth Manor Junior School Newsletter.
Our School Values

Y6 Kingswood Trip
On Monday, Y6 visited Kingswood at Doncaster.
They had a fantastic day abseiling, working on high
wires, laser quest and building a buggy. Everyone
enjoyed themselves even if they got a bit muddy!
Wednesday Football Fixture Night
On Wednesday Brinsworth Manor Juniors Under 9’s
played Brinsworth Howarth at home. In a well fought
match, Brinsworth Manor won by 16-1! Next week
the Under 9’s take on Whiston Worrygoose away.
Book and Cake Sale
On Wednesday 23rd October we are having our
Book and Cake Sale from 2.30pm-4.00pm. Come
along and peruse the books we have for sale and
buy a delicious cake. There will be a raffle- tickets
are 50p each or 3 for £1.
Macmillan Coffee Morning/Afternoon 7th November
We will be supporting Macmillan this year by holding
a coffee morning on 7th November for Y3 / Y4 from
9-10am and a coffee afternoon for Y5/Y6 2-3pm.
Parent Consultation Week
Parent Consultation week will be held from Tuesday
26th-Friday 29th November. Please note the slight
change to dates and put in your diaries. Booking will
be online as usual and you will be invited to book
online, closer to the week.
Young Voices
The choir have been given letters regarding ordering
tickets, t-shirts and DVDs for the Young Voices
concert at the Sheffield Arena on 9th January 2020.
All tickets, t-shirts and DVDs must be ordered and
paid for on Parentpay by Monday 4th November
2019.
pace!We are only able to order tickets, t-shirts and
DVDs that have been paid for by this date.
School Disco
The friends of Brinsworth Manor are holding school
discos on Wednesday 23rd October. Y3/4 from 5pm-
6pm. Y5/Y6 from 6.15pm-8pm. We are asking children
to wear yellow to support Mental Health Day and
Young Minds Charity. There will be a photo booth on
the night to raise money for the charities. Disco Tickets
cost £1 and will still be on sale in the hall at break time
next week.

Attendance
Well done to Turtle and Eagle classes 99.6% and
98.6% attendance. As you will know our annual
school target is 96.5%. Thank you to all of our parents
who continually support us to achieve our
attendance target. Please remember to phone
school and leave a message if your child is unwell
and off school.
Plastic water bottles
We provide your child with a plastic water bottle
that can be used throughout the day – however if
you wish your child to have bottled water from
home then please send this with them in the
morning. Please do not bring large water bottles,
milk drinks, fruit juice or fizzy drink. As we are an
Eco School please remember to take your plastic
bottles home to recycle them.
PE Days

Jewellery
For safety reasons, can we please ask that children
do not wear earrings for P.E. If the piercing is new
and they cannot be removed, then can we ask that
your child brings tape to cover them.
Start a Heart
On Wednesday the Titans came into school and
worked with our school council to show the children
how to’start a heart’. Everyone did really well and
were awarded certificates to show they had taken
part.
Over the counter Medicines
In an effort to save money the NHS is no longer
prescribing medicines such as Calpol. Instead
parents will be advised to buy Calpol over the
counter(OTC) at pharmacies. Some pharmacies
will label medicines purchased OTC so that they
can be administered in school when your child is
poorly. Weldricks Pharmacy on Brinsworth Lane
will provide this service.
Dinner Money
School dinners cost £2.10 per day or £10.50 per week.
Dinners should be paid for in advance either weekly
on a Monday morning or monthly if you prefer. Alerts
can be set up on Parentpay to let you know when
the balance is zero. Information is available in the
office.
