Parent Art and Craft Mornings/Afternoons
Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who
came on Thursday afternoon to the Year 5 art and craft
afternoon to support their child’s learning. We had
great fun creating artwork around the Year 5 topic- Do
you want to live in my city?
Next week Y3 will be holding their art and craft
afternoon and will be producing art work around their
topic – The Romans.
Morning design workshops for Internet Safety Week
Monday 4th February is Internet Safety Week and we
are running some morning design workshops with the
children.
Monday 4th February – Y6 Design Morning
Tuesday 5th February – Y5 Design Morning
Wednesday 6th February –Y3 Design Morning
Thursday 7th February – Y4 Design Morning
Uni Hockey Fixtures
This week the Under 11 hockey team played Brinsworth
Howarth away. It was an eventful match which
Brinsworth Manor won. Well done to everyone who
played.
Next week we play Whiston Worrygoose at home.
School Photographs
School photographs will take place on the morning of
Tuesday 12th February. A letter providing details has
been sent home this week. Please ensure you complete
and return the reply slip so we are able to take photos
of your child and any siblings either in the Junior or the
Infant School. If you have pre-school age children or
children who attend the afternoon nursery you will be
able to bring them to be photographed from 8.15-
8.45am. Please enter school via the main reception.
pace! Y6 Parent SATs Meeting
This year, our Y6 Parent SATs (Statutory Assessment Tests)
meeting in on Tuesday 29th January at 3.30pm in the
Hall. This is an important year for your children as we
prepare them for the secondary transition.
SATs dates: Monday 13th May – Thursday 16th May
We ask that Y6 pupils are not absent on these dates.

Attendance
Just a reminder that our annual school target from
the local authority is 96.5% and at the end of every
half term you will receive an attendance letter.
These are to either congratulate pupils and
parents or to remind parents of attendance
figures and that the Education Welfare Officer is
available for support if needed. We always offer
support to ensure that you have all resources
available to you. Please contact school if you do
not understand the information in the letter.
Contact Details
Please remember that it is vitally important that
you keep us updated if you change your contact
details. If you have moved house or have a new
contact number please call into the office to
complete a change of details form.
Dinner Money
School dinners cost £2.05 per day or £10.25 per
week. Dinners should be paid for in advance
either weekly on a Monday morning or monthly if
you prefer. If your account falls into debit you will
be asked to bring sandwiches for your child until
the debt is cleared. Alerts can be set up on
Parentpay to let you know when the balance is
zero. Information is available in the office. Thank
you to all those parents who continue to support
school by paying for school dinners and keeping
their accounts in credit.
Stranger Danger
With the dark evenings please continue to be
vigilant. Ensure you know where your children are if
they are out alone and remind them not to talk to
strangers.
Flu Immunisation
If your child has not yet had their flu immunisation
and they are in Years 3, 4 or 5, become a flu fighter
and attend the NHS Free upcoming drop in session:
5th February 4pm-6pm at My Place Community
