Welcome to the first 19/20 edition of the Brinsworth
Manor Junior School Newsletter.

Y3 Trip to Filey
Letters have been sent home this week for the Y3 trip
to Filey on Friday 20th September 2019. Children will
need to be at school by 8.15am and will need a
packed lunch and a drink. They will need to wear
school uniform. If it looks like rain they will need a
waterproof coat and trousers, scarf and gloves. If
the weather is fine they will need a sun hat and sun
cream. Payment needs to be made online at
Parentpay or at a paypoint using the barcode letter.
The cost of the trip is £10.93. We are expecting to
arrive back at school at 4.30pm.
After School Clubs
Wednesday and Friday after school clubs will start
next week.
Wednesday night will be Fixture Night - Under 11s
Football. We are playing Canklow Woods at home.
Thursday night will be Art & Craft Club. Please note
Art &Craft club will start on Thursday 26th September
Friday night will be Football Sports Club
Mon, Tues, Weds after school club (until 4pm) will
soon be on offer!
You will receive a letter if your child is successful in
gaining a place on an after school club. Please
contact school if you would like more information.
Allergies
As we have children and adults in school who are
severely allergic to nuts we are a Nut Free Zone. We
also have children who are allergic to raw egg.

Please consider this when making your child’s
packed lunch. Thank you.
Plastic water bottles
We provide your child with a plastic water bottle
that can be used throughout the day – however if
you wish our child to have bottled water from home
then please send this with them in the morning.
Please do not send large water bottles. Please do
not bring fruit juice or fizzy drink.

Reminder: Uniform and PE Kit
Please remember that our uniform is compulsory – a
decision made by parents and governors.
 Red Sweatshirt / cardigan
 White or red polo shirt
 Black or grey trousers or skirt
 Black or grey socks for boys
 White socks / red black tights for girls
 Black shoes / black trainers (no logos or patterns)
 Black head scarf for girls (where required)
 Red book bag
For Summer
 Red checked dress for girls (or ordinary uniform
as above)
 Tailored shorts for boys black or grey (with school
polo shirt / sweatshirt / cardigan)
For P.E
 White T Shirt
 Black shorts (girls may wear black footless
leggings for indoor)
 Black plimsolls or black trainers
 For outdoor P.E children may bring a black
tracksuit without logos or patterns.
PE Days
Monday am – Year 5
Wednesday pm – Y4
Thursday pm – Y6
Friday pm – Y3
Jewellery
For safety reasons, can we please ask that children
do not wear earrings for P.E. If the piercing is new
and they cannot be removed, then can we ask that
your child brings tape to cover them.
Illness
If your child is ill please telephone and leave a
message on the absence answerphone (Option 1)
Following safeguarding protocols, if you do not let us
know your child is ill, the office will ring to find out why
your child is not at school. Please ring on every day of
your child’s absence.
Dinner Money
School dinners cost £2.10 per day or £10.50 per week.
Dinners should be paid for in advance either weekly
on a Monday morning or monthly if you prefer. Alerts
can be set up on Parentpay to let you know when
the balance is zero. Information is available in the
office. Parentpay letters providing log on details will
be sent out to Y3 pupils next week.
