THE GOLDEN SNAIL

SCENE 1

Narator :

Once upon a time in the East Java there is a prosperous kingdom, it’s name Daha
Kingdom. The Kingdom is led by a very wise king. He had a queen and two beautiful princess.
The name of two beautiful princesses are Galuh Ajeng and Candra Kirana. News of their beauty
has been spread out to various lands. However, the treatment of the queen to Candra Kirana is
very different than to Galuh Ajeng. Queen more loving Galuh Ajeng.

One day there came a handsome prince named Prince Inu Kertapati of Kahuripan
Kingdom. He came to the Daha Kingdom for marriage with one of the princess, which Candra
Kirana. His arrival was welcomed by the King of the Daha Kingdom.

King : “Come here my princess!”

Candra Kirana : (Coming to the King). “What’s up Daddy?”

Galuh Ajeng : (Following Candra Kirana come to the King ). “Yes Daddy, why did you
call us?”.

King : “Okay my princess, I want to say that tomorrow Prince Inu Kertapati
from Kahuripan Kingdom want to visit our kingdom”
Galuh Ajeng : “Wow, is it true Dad ?”.

King : “Yes, absolutely.”

Candra Kirana : “But Dad, what is the purpose of Prince Inu visit our kingdom?”.

King : “I and Prince Inu Kertapati make a deal. I will choose one of you to
marry with Prince Inu Kertapati.”

Galuh Ajeng : (Smile and very happy).

Candra Kirana : “Married ?!” (Surprised).

King : “Yes my dear.”

Galuh Ajeng : “Emm.. by the way Dad, who would you choose to marry Prince Inu
Kertapati? I or Kirana?” (Want to know).

King : “I have chosen Candra Kirana to marry with Prince Inu Kertapati."
(Smile).

Galuh : (Bowing head) “Sorry Daddy, Galuh want to go backward. Excuse me...”
(Walk away as he bowed his head)

Candra Kirana : (Seeing the departure of Galuh, then see the King) "Thanks Dad, I'm very
happy.

King : “Yes, I know my dear. Okay, let's prepare everything for a welcoming
party Prince Inu Kertapati.” (As he wipe the head of Candra Kirana)

SCENE 2

Narator:

Queen of the Daha Kingdom who were busy with the bookkeeping kingdom in the family
room were surprised by Galuh Ajeng.

Galuh Ajeng : “Mommy ....” (whining and hug the Queen)

Queen : “What’s wrong sweety? Why you are so sad?”

Galuh Ajeng : “I hate Kirana Mom. He wrested my prince.”

Queen : “Wrested your prince? What do you mean my dear?”

Galuh Ajeng : “This Morning, Daddy called me and Kirana.Then, Daddy told us that
Prince Inu will come into our kingdom to get engaged with Kirana. It’s
broke my heart, Mom. I really hate Candra Kirana.Why he choose
Kirana Mommy? Why not me? Though I'm prettier than Kirana. This is
not fair. Only I would be the wife of Prince Inu Kertapati! I hate her! I
hate her!!”

Queen : “Don’t be sad, my dear. You will get Prince Inu Kertapati, I promise.”

Galuh Ajeng : “How's Mommy?”

Queen : “Tomorrow we'll go to a witch to ask for help.”

Galuh Ajeng : “A witch? But are you sure it will be success?”

Queen : “Yes of course. Now go back to your room sweety.”

Galuh Ajeng : “Thank you Mommy. I love you so much.”

SCENE 3

Narator:

Next day the Queen of the Daha Kingdom with Princess Galuh Ajeng went to the witch.
They asked for help from the witch to kill Princess Candra Kirana.

Witch : “Why do you come here?”

Queen : “We came here to ask your help. Chase Princess Candra Kirana from this
earth. If you can kill her, do it.”

Witch : “I'm sorry Your Majesty, for the affairs of killing someone I couldn’t do
that. Because if a witch use her spell to kill someone, she will die too.”

Galuh Ajeng : “Then spell her became something disgusting! Make her disappear from
this Kingdom!”

Witch : “Okay Princess. How if I change her became a snail?”

Galuh Ajeng : “I don’t care! It’s up to you to change her to be anything, the most
important thing she disappeared.”

Witch : “Okay Princess. To remove any suspicion, make Princess Candra Kirana
went to the river, I would spell her there.”

Galuh Ajeng : “It’s not a problem. I will do that.”

Queen : “Okay this is your pay. If your job successfully I will give you money
again. Let’s go home my dear!” (Queen and Galuh Ajeng left the witch)

SCENE 4

Narator:

Princess Candra Kirana went to the market to buy a need to welcome the arrival of Prince
Inu Kertapati. Returning from market Kirana passes a river. In the river she intercepted by an
ugly old woman. The old woman was a witch ruled by the Queen and Princess Galuh Ajeng to
spell Kirana.

Witch : “Ihihihihi!! Ihihihihihihi!!”

Candra Kirana : “Who are you?”

Witch : “Hey CandraKirana! How are you, huh? You seem very happy today.
Ihihihihi...”

Candra Kirana : (surprised) “Who are you? Why do you know my name?”

Witch : “Shut up! I'm here to spell you became a snail!!”

Candra Kirana : “Why do you want to spell me? What’s my fault?”

Witch : “Your mother and your sister told me to spell you.”

Candra Kirana : “No way! You must be lying!”

Witch : “Enough! Don’t talk too much! Just accept your destiny! hahahaha.”
(spell Kirana became a golden snail)

Candra Kirana : “No....!” (Changed became a golden snail)

Witch : “Hwahahaha!!!! You will be human during the day, but when in the early
evening, you will return to the snail! This curse will end when you meet
your true love! Ihihihihi! "(Throwing the golden snail into the river).”

SCENE 5

Narator:

Candra Kirana has been cursed into a golden snail and thrown into the river up stranded
in the village Dadapan. One day an old woman were fishing with nets, and golden snail traped in
her nets.

Grandmother : “Oh, the snail is very pretty! I'll take to the home!” (In the hut,
grandmother laid the snail in a safe place. Then she relaxed in a chair.)

Grandmother : “Until this hour I haven’t got a fish. I must looking for the fish again, if I
don’t get fish, I will be hungry.” (Go out to looking for fish)

(Grandma was back looking for fish in the river. Then Candra Kirana back to her human form.)

Candra Kirana : “Why did I get here? Of course, there is a grandmother who brought me.
What a pity the old woman, to eat she must find the fish first. I'll make a
meal for her.”
SCENE 6

Narator :

Until the night the old woman didn’t get a fish. The grandmother then decided to go
home, when she got home, she was very surprised, because the table is already provided
delicious meals. The grandmother wondered to herself, who sent this cuisine.

The next few days the old woman underwent a similar incident, the next morning the
grandmother wanted to peek at what happens when she goes fishing. The old woman then
pretended to go to the river to catch fish as usual, then went to the back of the house for a peek.
After a while, the grandmother was very surprised. Because the golden snail in the bowl
transformed into a beautiful girl. Feeling curious, then the grandmother encourage to say hello to
beautiful princess.

Grandmother : “Who are you beautiful princess, and where do you come from?"

Candra Kirana : (Turning surprised) “I ... I ... I Candra Kirana. I was enchated to be snail,
because my mother and my step sister very jealous to me.”

Grandmother : (Feeling sorry) “Poor you... I don’t know what kind your mother and
your sister, until the heart to curse you! You can stay here Princess.”

Candra Kirana : “Thank you, Grandma.”

SCENE 7

Narator:

Meanwhile Prince Inu Kertapati arrived in the Daha Kingdom. He’s so happy because
he’ll met his fiance, Candra Kirana. Prince Inu has been falling in love with Candra Kirana.
Unfortunately she was gone.

King : “Sorry Prince Inu Kertapati, my daughter Candra Kirana was gone. We
have been looking for her everywhere but until know we did’nt fine her.”

Prince Inu : “How? What’s truly happen?”

Queen : “We’re sorry Prince Inu.”

Prince Inu : “Let me find Candra Kirana until I can find her.”

SCENE 8

Narator:

Then Prince Inu Kertapati decide to looking for Candra Kirana. After walking for days
Prince Inu arrived to the Dadapan village. He approached a hut he saw to ask water.

Prince Inu : “Ah ... there's a hut! Maybe I can ride at rest there for a while and at least
I got a mouthful of water. I felt tired after walking so far.” (Approach
the hut) “Excuse me!”

Candra Kirana : “Yes?! Wait a minute." (Open the door)

Prince Inu : (surprised) Candra Kirana ?”

Candra Kirana : (surprised too) “Prince Inu?! Come in Prince Inu.”

Prince Inu : (sit down with Kirana) “Where have you been all this time? I've been

 looking for you Candra Kirana.” (holding hands Candra Kirana and
looking into her eyes in).

Candra Kirana : “I'm sorry Prince Inu.”

Prince Inu : “It’s okay, the most important thing I've found you. (Stroking the head of
Candra Kirana). I really miss you Candra Kirana.”

Candra Kirana : “I miss you too my prince.” (Smiling shyly).

Prince Inu : “All right, now let's go home.”

(Suddenly Grandmother come and meet Prince Inu and Candra Kirana)

Grandmother : “Who is this Kirana?” (walking approach Kirana)

Candra Kirana : “Oh, Grandma... this is Prince Inu that Kirana told you yesterday. He
come to pick Kirana go home. But, I can’t leave you alone here.”

Grandmother : “It’s okay Kirana. You have to go home, your family must be missing
you.” (Kirana shake her head)

Prince Inu : “Oh how about this, Grandma you can follow me and Kirana to the
palace. You can live with us.”

Candra Kirana : “It’s a very good idea. Let’s go Grandma...”

Grandmother : “Thank you very much Princess, Prince.”

SCENE 9

Narator:

Finally Prince Inu brought Candra Kirana and Grandmother to the palace, and Candra
Kirana tell everything about Queen and Princess GaluhAjeng to the King. The king was very
angry with them.

King : “My queen! GaluhAjeng! Come here!”

Queen : “What’s up my husband? Why you are calling me?”

GaluhAjeng : “Yes Daddy, why do you call us?”

(Suddenly Candra Kirana appeared in front of them. The Queen and Galuh Ajeng was very
surprised to see Candra Kirana is turned into a human again.)

Galuh Ajeng : “CandraKirana? Why did you here?”

Queen : (pretend either) “My daughter! Where have you been my dear. Mommy
was very worried about you.”

King : “Enough! You don’t have to pretend anymore! I already know the truth.
It is you who has chase Candra Kirana! She has told me everything.
How dare you!”

Queen : “That's not my king, this is just a missunderstanding.”

Galuh Ajeng : “Yes Daddy, it’s just a missunderstanding Daddy.”

King : “Liar! You can not be trusted! Starting today, gone from my kingdom!”
Queen : “Don’t do that my King. I am sorry. I am sorry.”

Galuh Ajeng : “Yes Daddy, forgive us, forgive me. Please forgive me.” (And switching
to Candra Kirana)

Galuh Ajeng : “Kirana... forgive us Kirana. Forgive me and mommy Kirana. Forgive
us. Please let us stay here. We had no place to go Kirana. (Kneeling to
Candra Kirana).

Queen : “Forgive me Candra Kirana. Forgive your sister too, please my dear...”

Candra Kirana : “Get’s up Mommy, Galuh, dont be like this. (Interesting Queen and
Galuh Ajeng to rise). From the beginning I've forgiven you. So don’t be
like this. Both of you are my family.

King : “Enough Kirana! Let them!”

Candra Kirana : “No Daddy, we should forgive them. Nevertheless they are part of our
family. Please Daddy, forgive them. Because every person is reverse to
be given a second chance.” (Holding the hand of the King)

King : “Okay. Because it’s your wish then I would be granted it. Hear it!

 Thanks to Candra Kirana, I will not expel you. You will remain in this
kingdom.”

Queen : “Thank you my King, thank you my dear.”

Galuh Ajeng : (hugging Candra Kirana) “Thank you my sister, thank you very much.
Once again, I'm sorry Kirana.”

Candra Kirana : “It's my job Galuh. However you are my sister, and I love you.”

Galuh Ajeng : “I love you too Kirana. I promise from now on I'll learn to be a good
sister for you.” (brandishing promise).

Candra Kirana : (accept promise) “Not only you, I would be so. We can learn together.”
(They both smile).

SCENE 10

Narator:

On the other side Prince Inu Kertapati was very happy because he can find his soulmate.
Together with Candra Kirana he was walking around the palace while talking.

Prince Inu : “Candra Kirana?”

Candra Kirana : “Yes my Prince.”

Prince Inu : “I want to tell you something. You know, true love will always find
away to come back.”

Candra Kirana : "You’re right my Prince, now I’m very happy."

Prince : "Me too Kirana."

Narator:

Marriage of Candra Kirana and Prince Inu Kertapati was held, and the party was very
awesome. Finally they lived happily ever after.
